Needs a Mini diesel conversion!

Sounds they are re-introducing the first gen Acura Integra.

A million years ago but I went to a local foreign car lot with my old Fiat and $400, and naively told them exactly what I had and that I wanted to trade for something more reliable. I was offered a 1963 MG 1100 sedan or an 1958 Mercedes 190SL. I was no fool so of course I took the newer car.

The whole idea of the Smart cars was something so tiny you could squeeze it into any minimalist space on the streets of Paris, Omaha, or whatever urban landscape where parking is near impossible. 100% electric cars on the other hand are for those privileged enough to have a house, a driveway, maybe even a garage for

I had no idea Lockheed, Boeing, Musk et al needed a bailout, but here it is!

I love the police quote “out-of-state speeding offenders in the area are not an uncommon occurrence”. Thats because this part of 70 is a speed trap. They got me too, in a Ford no less...uh, a rental Fusion. Limit dropped quickly from 70 to 50 on a big downhill. But I got the “courtesy” ticket of only 19 over.

A 2004 twin-turbo V12 S class cost about $120K new, worth about 10% of that today. So 90% depreciation. No reason the same rule of thumb doesn’t apply here. CP.

Yeah, not a defect but still irritating. And I have three other pancake engines in my stable: an aircooled 4 cyl VW 1600, a Subaru H6 in a Vanagon, and a Porsche 986 with the 2.7. Love them all, but the Subaru 4 cyls my friends have drive me nuts.

Sportwagen ground clearance is 5.5", plus .6 gives me 6.1. The Outback is a whole other ballgame at 8.7". But at least you don’t have to put up with the rattle of the Subaru 2.5 engine.

Of course yesterday’s 911 has no glovebox -they were missing in the 996s until 2002 - and therefore no tears allowed.

Sad.

With that kind of mileage, one thing (maybe the only thing) you don’t have to worry about is the IMS bearing. One they are past 60K, its a good one. (119,000 miles for my 2000 986, purchased at 65,000.)

And Porsche 911 mantra too. Even 2WD.

I’d think this wasn’t just a normal BMW and that an armored 7 series would have taken the Benz out just with momentum.

My dad, RIP, was a huge station wagon fan. I remember the ‘53 Ford Customline, the ‘57 Ranchwagon, the 61 Comet wagon, and the last car he bought, a ‘64 Fairlane wagon with the giant (compared to the Comet) 170 cu/in six.

I’m still enjoying a nice long hit...over 20 years of fun!

The McLaren wasn’t “chasing down” the GT3. That implies overtaking. Fairer to say the McLaren was “chasing after” the Porsche.
