Cars.com found several hundred when I added “performance” to the search as a keyword. Even better, some of them have actual pictures from the dealership, so they are real!

Remember, it was VW that idiotically dropped the “Build” feature from its website. It shows their basic disconnect with their customers and their competitors. Instead of building they wanted to “find” one for you - I thing you are right on. (Its back now, in a half-assed way).

If you do find the asking price, please post it - a lot of us are still wondering.

Depends on the state. Many states - NC and VA are examples off the top of my head- include what is essentially a property tax with annual registration fees, others the fee is based on car value, etc. Fifty states, fifty different ways to get your money!
