“Apple is declining in sales”

That’s where you’re wrong, kiddo

This comment section is going to be fantastic. Bring it on mad fandroids! 😂

Yes, well after 11 months in service, my S7 is overheating and the battery is swelling, which popped the right side of the back cover. I have Nougat, which is a power hog, but it feels like there might be another Samsung battery bug happening.

The tech exists...and Apple owns much of it. The Ukrainian firm that Apple acquired in 2016 developed technology that wirelessly charges up to 16 feet away.

No one has done this yet. What manufacturer has wireless charging where you don’t have to take the phone out of your pocket? You may just need to be in the same room or car as the transmitter. We’re not talking about a Samsung base-station system.

Near Magnetic wireless charging has not been brought to market yet. This is different from a pad or base-station where you have to physically place the phone. What Samsung and LG have done is neat, but it still requires you to physically connect your phone to a charging device (not by cord by my co-location). NM

Well, technically they bought a few companies on the forefront of it. But yes, looks like they might be the first ones to bring REAL wireless charging to market (and not the pad-bs you see from Samsung and others).

Nope, the S6 does NOT have “wireless charging”, even though Samsung trains their sheep to repeat that phrase. The S6 has INDUCTIVE charging. It needs to lie on some stand or pad or whatever. And that is actually worse than simple cable charging imo, since you can’t even hold the phone in your hand while charging. It’s

Yeah, I hope that when/if Apple releases wireless charging (or anyone else really) they actually make it useful. If you still have to carry around a cable and place it somewhere very specific, as you mentioned, is it really worth it? It’s always been a bit gimmicky and not worth the extra complexity it adds. If anyone

Practically Magic!

Hopefully with better range than current wireless charging platforms. Wireless charging would be much more attractive if I could use the device (i.e. hold in my hand) while the charging is taking place, say, 1-5 ft from the charging unit.

Also, to be fair, in both cases you’d buying a computer anyway and it’s hard to compare different computers, so it’s really the difference between a gaming class graphics card versus paying a monthly fee. So $650 a year against whatever your graphics card costs (GTX 1080 can be had for around $620).

He doesn’t even have the new MacBook Pro with the Touch Bar? Pffffft. Amateur.

Give him a break with the July photo. He’s using it. He’s just looking for the “ANY” key after being prompted “Press any key to continue”.

He should definitely not upgrade to the new MacBook Pro, the size of the new touchpad will make his tiny hands basically disappear.

The bottom photo on the plane is actually an 11" MacBook Air with specially designed keys for smaller hands.

“Touch bar is more of a gimmick”

I bought a Surface Book this weekend, having used Macbooks for something like 15 years, and while the machinery is nice I was really disappointed by it. The pen often outright refused to work and various little features of Windows didn’t seem stable. Developing in Windows (using the linux bash) felt like a pain, too.
