Statistically, by todays standards, our generation all died twice in accidents as children.

No kidding, I once heard a theory that Elvis didn’t die, he went into witness protection as an undercover DEA agent. When the proponent of this theory was asked if he had any proof, he responded, with all sincerity “No, which proves it’s a government cover-up.”

Seriously do these people have nothing better to do than dream up conspiracy theories?

Most of the Republicans I know don’t hate Biden. They pity him.

Yeah, I’m one of those workaholics who works 60+ hours a week, without vacations (maybe a long weekend here and there.)

1st gear: The “jobs at risk argument” is typical union BS. Apply that logic broadly and we just have a bunch of people sitting around watching technology work.

Even in principle, it doesn’t violate the laws of Thermodynamics. You still won’t get more energy out than you put in to it, because you have to fuel it - i.e. you’re never getting more energy out of it than you put in. You always have energy loss.

Ultimately, they borked the server by maxing out the HD space, crashing it irrecoverably, and didn’t have backups, so it was a moot point anyway.

But the fact that they couldn’t mitigate at all - switch key accounts and channels to manual? C’mon. You can do that with an excel sheet.

Worked somewhere once where their financial records system was a completely air-gapped server, in a locked closet, for which you had to have another party open it with the CFO looking over their shoulder.

I was thinking you could only do this in a hybrid, as the engine would be small enough to deflect to the side, and the car body lightly enough built, to split in half lengthwise.

No, but there are greater and lesser egregious manners.

And here I just deleted the picture I took of the pickup truck with the most egregious anti-semitic “Hitler was Right/Kill the Jews” bumper stickers I’ve ever seen.

That’s also not what “natural born citizenship” is, but I stopped arguing with those idiots years ago.

Some of the best school assignments I’ve ever had were counterfactual proofs.

But I would still argue that from a 1997-2003 feminism perspective, it does manage to be fairly progressively feminist.

You spoiled upper-class kids and your shoe boxes. When I was a kid, we had to live in one of David Tracy’s rusted-out Jeeps.

Well...they cremated a whole neighborhood, so what’s a couple more bodies?

Your dad let you sleep?  Lucky bastard...
