My initial playthrough was as the female Shepard because I just didn’t want to play yet *another* presumably-straight white guy. I tried playing a male Shepard years later, but he just didn’t sell me on the character the way Hale’s voiceover did.

Downside: I now recognize a lot of Hale’s animation roles, but that’s the

I don’t know how I ever managed to complete “Eternal Darkness,” much less twice, because I’m just a scaredy-cat.

For context: I stopped playing “Gone Home” due to creeping dread. This was a game in which I’d been told by others, repeatedly, that there are no monsters. (I was playing it at night, alone. I really

I’m very excited that American toy manufacturers are starting to ape some of the features - swappable hands, effect parts - that make Figuarts so desirable.

Wow, that looks tedious. The minions appear to require as much damage as the bosses, and it doesn’t look like the fighting is all that complex or fun. Where’s her bow? Where’s any variety at all? I suspect this game was balanced around multiple players, assuming it was balanced.

I thought the game that best fit “What’s it like inside the world of public restroom signs?” was Portal.

I had the privilege of playing the pre-release version of the game’s first chapter at GaymerX 2, and was eager to buy the game later. Given my high expectations - the earliest encounter with Turing is delightful - I was pleasantly surprised when Read Only Memories exceeded them. I’m inclined to pick up the PS4 version

I only started playing Sims 4 very recently, so I have much less of a stake in this, but I think I approve the prior absence of communication on the toddler topic. I happened to learn of this a few minutes ago after clicking on the Patch Notes, and it’s sort of the definition of a welcome surprise. Features Maxis

That this is a Game Pack rather than a full expansion is pretty much ideal for me, since I don’t want vampires in my game. I remember my dismay over Sims 3 Late Night, an expansion with a ton of stuff I wanted... and vampires. This perfectly segments off the content so that people who want it get a full package (maybe

Kim is completely Lois Lane in this situation. Inevitably, she’s going to be kidnapped.

I’m fascinated by how the Sims 4 contains such fine facial controls, but its expression system makes different Sims look basically the same any time they’re not at neutral-face.

Do not want. I’m in a similar boat to yours; I’m not a straight guy. It just feels like background radiation. It’s irritating to me, but that irritation has a few different components. One of them is when it’s out-of-place. It’s not out-of-place in all anime (or media, for that matter,) but it’s just jarring to me

I’m impressed that you included the Larry trivia. I had the chance to play a bit of Softporn Adventure when at a friend’s house when I was too young (and, as it turns out, too gay) to be titillated by it. I remember my friend asking for help with a puzzle involving a fire escape and a bottle of Spanish Fly. When I

I’m glad I read this. I was puzzled about the open fare gates, but chalked it up to “maybe this is a Thanksgiving weekend thing...?”

I felt the English audio on 3 FES and 4 were pretty good, but until Tales of Zestiria and Bravely Default, I’d never imagined that Japanese audio could be an option. This might actually be a difficult decision for me.

As much as I’m slightly disappointed to have to wait *even longer* for Persona 5, I’m not all that

This is one of the few games I’ve repeatedly finished. That Silicon Knights never created anything else on its level is sad, and the behind-the-scenes stories about the studio since have been hair-raising. The attempted Kickstarter “spiritual sequel” asked for an unrealistic amount of money, and there were lots of

This is only part of what was awesome, though. This was part of ambitious group cosplay in which the group played as *the Player Select screen.* The others were each character, with the appropriate number over their head.

Don’t get me wrong - the Party Ball was on fleek - but all of them posing together was just UNF,

I love BioWare game in general, and Dragon Age in specific. I was pretty much enthralled with Inquisition, right up until I stopped playing it. It wasn’t the story or the generic quests that lost me, but rather the bugs.

I’d have to restart. I ate the spider baked goods to survive earlier in the game.

Given that small, indie games tend to still be collaborative, it had never occurred to me that Toby Fox did the music to Undertale, too. It makes sense, it just impresses the hell out of me since it’s so effective.

(I’d love to finish the game, but that spider queen fight... My reflexes just can’t.)

I think it’s very much a plus to Kotaku that she does. With that said, many writers for Kotaku have several specialties; one could just as easily ask why Patricia is drawn to Pokémon.
