There’s a difference between hard, and unfair. When you’re being punished after hitting a good shot, things get silly. Imagine the NBA making both hoops smaller so only an absolutely perfect shot could go in, resulting in a 10-9 basketball game because it’s virtually impossible to score.  Nobody wants to watch that.

When I was growing up, soccer is something we did in the summer to stay in shape for hockey.
