Hitting in hockey is fundamental to the game. I love these Canada/USA games every four years, but the lack of hitting changes the game to something that just doesn’t feel quite like hockey. It’s like flag-football.  

And Canada has been in every single Olympic gold medal game that has ever been played.  Until other countries catch up, women’s hockey will never be a big deal unless it’s the Olympics.  

You are correct.  The women’s game suffers from the no-hitting rule, and that should be rectified.  But it needs to be introduced into girl’s hockey so that they grow up with it.  I do think that it can be introduced at the highest levels with enough lead time for proper preparation.  

If teachers were compelled to carry guns as part of their job, it would be just a matter of time until some angry, crazy, or drunk teacher shot a student or two.  “I told you to be quiet Timmy!”  What a world.

Not to mention the soccer level diving by some of the US team.

You know, it’s just not the same without the NHL in the Olympics, but that was a pretty good hockey game.
