funny because I came away thinking it was the best game to film adaptation by a longshot (which still isn’t much praise I suppose)

I really hope they get a shot at another one. I really enjoyed the movie and it’s been on my mind since I saw it...
It is not perfect but it’s FAR better than Wing Commander. From a fairly objective standpoint, it’s getting as much right as it is wrong. Perhaps more. The setting, the fights, all the scenes with orcs are very well done. It’s a lot of the human stuff (who get the lion’s share - no pun intended- of exposition to deal…
I actually thought it was fairly good and entertaining. Not all of it of course. The entire subplot of Lothar’s son could have been done away with, but other than that it was fairly enjoyable.
I’ve never cheered harder for my species before this!
That’s it. That joke is old but somehow it’s still funny.
I once experienced 49° below zero one February in Cochrane, Ontario. At those temperatures, some trees will split right down the middle in an instant. It sounds like a gun going off.
You my friend have not been to Cedar City, UT. It takes boredom to exponential levels. It is where pious Mormans live and when I last visited had no bars. Their top restaurant pines to rise to Sizzler level.
Too hot to drink beer? My mind can't even process the concept.
Show us the picture of Lake Michigan in December... lol
Yeah, they really don’t. Sailboating is fun, but beaches with imported sand and murky, lamprey infested waters... no danke.
So, you think me playing white savior by putting my kid in an underperforming school is going to make a difference? Because that seems like the point: as a white person, my being there in that system is going to make a difference to the school system. That discounts all the parents of color who are working hard to…
I’m with you on the funding issue, but the tax on private schools is just ridiculous. You do realise that by not sending kids to public school that school saves the entire cost of having having the student while still collecting all the taxes to spend on the school.
I live in Southeast Missouri. I had to drive 15 minutes just to reply to your comment.
Lakes don’t count, eh? Lake Michigan is pretty beachy.
Extra points for the sailboat, but lakes don’t really count.
No, I’m really not. What I’m also not fine is taking the less-effort/less-reward-for-everyone path of sending my kids to a shitty school to make some kind of a point while doing very little to improve the situation for anyone. Putting my kid in a shitty school doesn’t make the school less shitty for everyone else who…
This will cure the boredom:
Or we could divorce the funding of schools from the property values of where they are located. It makes no sense that School A, enrollment 100 students, receives more money than School B, enrollment 100, just because they happen to be 15 miles (or less) away from each other. Ashleigh and Carolyyn and Aiden aren't more…
