How are we to distinguish intent when what we must rely upon is behavior? Rather than trying to parse what is internal and therefore implied, but not wholly visible, by over examining every action is pointless. If McGorry or any celebrity discussed another political issue, like the ever-popular environmental causes,

Rule number 1: you will never, ever, EVER stop teenagers from having “the sex.”

Thanks, Obama!

Right, that’s my point. No one’s like “Bad Matt! You’re being a feminist wrong!” But come on, some of those posts are so silly. I don’t read anyone as trying to police him or anything, but he deserves some gentle ribbing.

I think he means well, but there is certainly an element of self promotion in all this. It is impossible to believe that he doesn’t benefit from this and isn’t aware of it. I can’t say whether he’s focused on that benefit or not, but some people are more skeptical than others.

If you really think there’s nothing performative about using his body building picture or posting about reading Women Come First than I don’t know what to tell you.

We can never eye roll people who are promoting feminism, got it.

Because he does stuff like post a shirtless selfie of himself reading The New Jim Crow? Because he used an old body building picture to make his Free the Nipple post? I was the lucky one tho. I had a home with parents to take care of me (being 15). Others who relied on that place for their livelihood were

Fantastic post. I worked in the L.A. social justice nonprofit world for many years, and I can vouch for all of this.

Answer to the title of the article is, for me, : Not you (meaning, me). Great read. Having been a recipient of wage theft with no recourse, it sucks beyond. Just awful.

This has absolutely nothing to do with race and everything to do with power. In this world power means money.

It should be noted that these examples of inhumanity are exactly what LBJ fought against. Look at his domestic record of worker protections passed during his Presidency, it might blow your mind.

I know it’s only been half an hour, but everyone else seems to be appreciating it without making presumptive racist and sexist comments like yours.

Not if they’re poor, let alone homeless, have a record, etc.

:(

A no knock warrant!

Easy, people with lots of money.
