I’d say the problem with standing starts is that F1-cars tend to overheat quickly. Unless they can cool the cars with external help (ice and fans) there will be cars dead on arrival if they have to stop and wait for a restart. These cars aren’t your everyday Toyota Corolla that you can stop at will...
