Mrs. Slocombe, is that you?

You’re assuming that my Pixel’s USB-C port still works. Not a great assumption.

That “disruption” that they always tout? It’s just a code word for minimizing labor costs.

A movie about how a group of session musicians came together and produced some of the decades top hits would be much more interesting than a dog that chases some chickens and pulls back a curtain.

Slideshows are the work of the devil. Not today Satan!!!

You know, that might be the one time that I wouldn’t mind being woken up at 2:00am.

A mix. For specialty tools that rarely get used I go as cheap as will get me a tool that will actually do the job. For things that get used a lot I’ll step up to the pro-sumer level. I don’t go full Snap-On because I don’t need them to make a living.

The reception I mentioned followed a full mass Catholic wedding. A beer run was made. How do you plan an Irish-Catholic wedding with no alcohol?

I went to one years ago that only had two cases of beer for the entire reception. That was indeed hell.

People who vote 3rd parties have a weird air of superiority about them. This is especially weird since they obviously can’t do basic math. There are exactly two people who have a chance to be president. If you don’t vote for one of them then you really haven’t voted. If you live in a state that’s firmly red or blue

After years of suffering through a cheap HP color inkjet that would force me to go buy new cartridges every time I had to print I have a Brother 2380DW sitting next to me. I don’t need to print all that often but when I do it’s good to go.

Van Halen was the first album (cassette) I ever bought with my own money. After that I had them all up to 1984 with that being one the first CDs I every bought. The Sammy stuff didn’t interest me much but I did see them in Alpine Valley during the first tour with Sammy. Eddie was mind blowing that night, like Eddie

So the MacGuffin is a cross between Johnny 5 and Wall-E? They should sell well.

Yes, I know what his point was. My point was that his point is wrong. Google 69 Corvette L88 if you want to see how wrong it was. The C3 from the 68 to the 70 model years were anything but uninspiring.

Uninspiring?

Knowing how to quickly and correctly look stuff up is vitally important in IT! Why should I waste time trying to figure out an issue when a quick Google search will show me the answer? The key part is being able to tell what’s a valid answer and what’s BS.

How about Boss 302s running in Trans Am in 1970 turning 9,000 rpm. Does that meet your requirements? Or a CanAm Chapparral with a big block 427 Chevy turning 7,000 the same year? Should I go on?

I’m an IT person and I couldn’t do my job if I couldn’t look shit up. Even in the pre-internet days I’d have a bookshelf full of books to look shit up in. Nobody should waste time memorizing things that would be better spent understanding underlying fundamentals.

In the times we’re in isn’t the solution obvious? Put both of them and the moderator on a Zoom meeting. When one is answering the other’s mic and camera are turned off. That way we don’t have to watch Donny’s infantile reactions.

I’ve been putting Fireball in (store bought) eggnog for years. It’s really the only use I have for all of the Fireball that people keep giving us.
