I would agree if this was a practical car in any way shape or form but it’s not. It won’t be driven in the cold or wet. Or much in summer if the Corvette pattern stays true. If for no other reason than bragging rights I think most that can will go Z51.

The 2LT with the Z51 package will probably be the most popular combination.

It came out when I was enduring high school so watching it produces some mixed feelings for me, but I really do need to watch it again.

I thought that was Phoebe Cates’s character? Man, it’s been too long since I’ve watched that movie.

If that was the same 2.5l from the MX6/Probe GT then it was pretty fun. Not a lot of power but high revving and smooth.

I was kind of sad when I finally shut down my Earthlink address after not using it for years and years. It had some pretty amusing things in it too.

It’s an old car that’s not quite as historic as it’s made out to be, not an abandoned child.

If you ever find yourself wondering why GenXers are like the way we are just remember that this is what pop culture looked like to a lot of us in our younger years.

All that this really confirms is how little of modern grills is needed for cooling purposes.

And they only tested in certain areas so if Billy Bob owned a newer car he could register it at Jim Bob’s house.

Pre-74 cars didn’t have catalytics, but I know what you’re saying. Washington only tested cars 25 years old or newer and only in some areas so it was always fairly easy to get around the rules if you wanted to. Now they’ve just eliminated the hassle for the rest of us.

And emissions testing is being phased out so Billy Bob can take a cutoff wheel to his catalytic converter. Ok, that might be a negative.

Have you forgotten that the very first Corvettes were powered by an anemic 6 cylinder with a two-speed automatic? They were very much form over function.

When I was little they had Julia Child and Graham Kerr and that was pretty much it. Not that they weren’t enough.

They also have to procure a manual transaxle for a mid-engined car, unlike Ford who can use a conventional manual. I’m sure that if there was a reasonable off the shelf solution they would have bought it to give them one more bragging right.

Make the stone about 1/10th that size and it might look good.

That’s a prototype. The production version might be better, or worse.

It’s funny because back then it was totally normal for a neighborhood bar to have one of these hanging behind the bar and they would just cut slices off with a knife without the fancy rig.

Nope, I was in the middle of Andalusia. Olives, sunflowers and vineyards for sherry making were the order of the day. That, and the best ham you will ever taste.

But it’s not a Hyyyyydromatic!
