My friend and I were filmed once on the metro by a creepy guy holding a tiny camcorder in between his bag and his leg. I didn’t notice but my friend did - she loudly pointed it out but the creep kept on creeping on like he hadn’t heard. I also wish in retrospect that I had knocked the camera out of his fucking hand…

Your post and the one above have made me interested if there are stats on the frequency of those that grew up in a large family that go on to have a large family of their own (absent religious motivation, like the Quiverfull weirdos). Yeahhh, my parents must have missed the memo on how parents of four are supposed to be all calm and enlightened. Seeing them stressed and exhausted my whole childhood is a big reason that I don’t have kids.

Thank you - there are so many judgy comments here. It’s not like she threw the kid in a garbage can and went on with her life. The child’s with her father and is presumably being well-cared for.

I think in this specific case, the girl already knew that she couldn’t trust her own parents to help and protect her. That messes with your head.

Ooo I didn’t know about the possible Jeremy Sisto casting - I feel like the movie would have been a lot more smoldering with him in the role. Leo was a cutie-pie back then, but he was just so boyish looking, especially as a romantic interest for Kate Winslet.
