I built my own computer a couple months back, never really intended it to be a gaming computer per-se but it can run fairly new games comfortably.
Amen to the resale bit (well all of it actually), around here a small Toyota or Nissan can easily go for a grand even with rust everywhere. Not so much with the full size, I finally settled for a c1500 for $300. Someday, I WILL have my Nissan Hardbody.

I recall having to coax my father away from using AOL long after we had broadband, explaining that AOL did not equal "the internet." Boy do I ever remember those days though, not being able to use the computer all day was a small price to pay for those handfull of mp3's (from winmx).
