My favorite is the garage door pull argument. That’s the latest one. Insisting that every garage door pull looks just like that.

Only when they weren’t repurposing white pillow cases to wear over their heads.

When the fuck were you a kid? 1865?

This came up in the reddit post on /r/motorcycles about this and there is so much more that it’s disgusting.

Uhhh excuse me. My great great great grandfather William John Pull invented the garage pull and ever since that brilliant idea he had in 1785 every garage pull has been designed like that. Just a normal happy garage pull. What, you’re just going to use a regular rope or a handle? Sorry sir, the moose out front

Whenever I see a David Tracy article with some obvious mechanical ignorance it amazes me he was an automotive engineer, but then I remember it was for Chrysler and it all makes sense.

Z31? None of it is really that bad. Hardest part is probably getting the crank pulled off without damaging it. Ultimately just do the basics for cheap. Timing belt w/ pulleys, water pump, and inspect your cam seals for oil leak/seepage. The seals are also cheap and easy to do.

Uhhhhh.... the frontier actually sells pretty well. It’s the cheapest bare bones midsize truck you could get for a while. And Nissan (pre COVID) has already said the next Frontier should be out in a year or two. The new drivetrain is more so to test it out for the next model.

The good thing is nobody has to convince you. The base macan doesn’t need a high strung 4 cylinder because it’s gonna drop reliability. The 2.0T is primarily for fleet sales.

It’s not that bad. It gets knocked a lot, but you can still have fun with it. You don’t have all the extra weight of the V6 hanging in front of the front axle.

You can’t bypass the ride height in the PASM control unit. There are systems that piggy back from the load leveling switch in the trunk, but they’re usually not as low as some people want.

6.1 for a base macan to 60 vs 7.6 for a base Camry...

Fun fact: most of the “buttons” are always blank. It’s a problem Porsche has had across all the models with that console design. Including the new Panamera/Cayenne/992.

Not really. It’s not a great crossover. But you can get it dirt cheap and it’s decently comfortable with good gas mileage. Plus no Toyota or Honda tax when it’s bought used.

All of which aren’t that new. The “new” interior is just the new PCM and moving the vents below that. There’s wireless charging available in the console. That’s about it.

Uhhhhh what? What have you come from that makes a Macan S “slow”? It’s half a second slower than the Boxster you’re praising. And a far shoot from the CX3 you’re comparing it to. Whatever unrealistic expectations you rolled in with is definitely the issue.

It’s heavily Q5 based. Rear brakes are the same. Most of the suspension is also the same. Transmission and AWD are the same. And now even all the engines are the same. Is Audi offering the 2.9TT in the SQ5 or is it the 3.0T?

Those programmers to retune the suspension are awful. The suspension isn’t designed to run that low and they end up riding like shit. You think it’ll be sportier, but it rarely ever is.

Having driven both, the Macan is a much better ride. Especially because they’re almost always equipped with the air suspension. Which gives you more than extra ride height. And the Golf R is low. Scraping the high parking lot entrances and speed bumps in the area are part of why I ditched my car

Except the Macan Turbo doesn’t use a soundaktor or fake engine noise piped in. It’s an actual exhaust flap at the muffler.
