Even with a clean PPI this is a hard CP. these things were garbage when new. Considering they couldn’t be bothered to replace a bulb for their craigslist ad, I’m wondering what other deferred maintenance there is.

It’s a somewhat reliable family hauler that avoids being a large SUV in terms of ride height. Not to mention comfortable. While it’s inferior to a Minivan, it’s better styled and has the option of 365+hp. This one is definitely a CP, but it’s definitely not a bad car.

The Fusion and Taurus literally have about the same interior volume. It’s insane. Unless you needed the big trunk there was zero reason to buy a Taurus/MKS.

There’s also a power limit where the trans becomes a grenade as well.

The current explorer is an all new platform.

Which replacement parts were difficult for the Caprice? The only unique thing a little them were body panels and maybe some suspension components. They’re pretty stout vehicles overall.

Because if the badge on it doesn’t say “wrangler” nobody wants it. It remains to be seen with the new Bronco if the market is still there. But manufacturers killed off BoF SUVs because they noticed their customer base didn’t actually use any of that.

the CVTs attached to the VQ seem to be the issues. I haven’t seen near the failures when paired with the smaller engines. But Muranos/Maximas/AltimaV6 seem to be the common weak point. Most the 4-cylinder ones fail due to neglect

Yes, a low volume car in an already small and crowded segment is just the shot in the arm Nissan needs. Why hasn’t anyone thought of this before?

What does he waaant?

Why is the boat anchor TBI more desirable? I mean sure it’s dead reliable, but there isn’t much of a real benefit of it over the LT1. And because I’m sure you’re only response is “optispark” I’ll have you know that you really missed out on a great engine by avoiding something that was fixed with a redesign 25 years

The base models? Lol. No. You need to pack on a few thousand in options to make them halfway competent drivers cars from the base model.

I had an 04 or 05 Vue Redline. Surprisingly great vehicle. Typical GM in that it ate it’s front wheel bearings, and the interior was cheap with what is possibly the worst lawn chairs for seats I’ve ever been in, but despite those it wasn’t a bad car at all.

How many other sub $30k sports coupes (Sold new) are there with the same driving dynamics as the toyobaru twins? Because you definitely can’t count the Camaro or Mustang due to their size and weight. They’re better “on paper” but when you drive one you understand why they’re bought by hair dressers and secretaries.

Wow. A two year old post of mine getting salty replies?

Actually they had quite a resurgence after the introduction of the Vue. Then that promptly died out because the CVT with the base model and the 3.0 Opel engine were junk. But they finally got it right around 04/05 with the introduction of the J35 they got from Honda.

But they stopped making the SW in 2002

Remember when people said they’d buy the Toyobaru twins and didn’t? Yeah. That’s a heavy reason why the IDX didn’t get made.

I would hope so. They made the 370z dimensions smaller. Which goes a decent way for weight reduction.

Not a whale tail. It’s a tea tray spoiler.
