Audi is designing the engines. porsche is putting their flair on it. Basically oil and coolant leaks from factory.

Cayenne isn’t an Audi. It’s a Volkswagen though. But uses Porsche engines (except for the VR6).

Except it’s already happening. This isn’t about one offs like the RS2 Avant. It’s collaborations like the Macan. Even the new Panamera engines are Audi engines. Just with different tuning.

You must be new when the Toyobaru was in development, every asshole on this site was freaking out about how they were putting deposits down and they would definitely buy one.

Nissan just doesn’t care about the Z. They funnel all performance development pretty much entirely in the GTR. The people who buy Z34s are just giving Nissan bonus money because the FM platform development has paid for itself over and over again at this point. No need to update it. They are primarily concerned with

I prefer the Z34 over the Z33 myself. They shortened it and added weight somehow. But the rear on the Z34 looks better I think. The rear of the Z33 is just awkward. Especially with no spoiler of any kind

that has nothing to do with the state of the engine. An engine that’s broken in is still within emissions output specifications. The only cars that really have a problem are ones with low friction piston rings (many import 4-cylinders) that caused oil consumption issues.

Has nothing to do with anything because the IDx had the same type of shitty rear seat that the BRZ had. More headroom, but not anywhere near a useable backseat.

The worst part is the initial FM platform cars weren’t that heavy. My Z33 is around 3200#. Yeah it’s on the heavy side but the car is so balanced it’s not a burden to drive. The issue was because Nissan wanted a platform that could kind of do everything (and it does with the FX, EX, G/Q/Skyline, Z, R35 GTR, etc). Part

Because the core Z didn’t have rear seats you could eventually get the 2+2 coupes, but they ultimately ended up being awkward looking and the rear seats were useless.

“What Nissan really needs is a car to go against the Miata & GT86"

Since when has Nissan claimed the Z could hang with the Corvette or 911?

The Z34 is much more different than the Z33. This site keeps throwing this argument that it’s just a “facelift” from the 350z but it’s dead wrong.

Lol. This argument is always thrown out. But no. It’s doubtful you’d buy one. Remember the FRS/BRZ? Yeah this whole site was circle jerking about how they’d buy one because even though it’s not fast it’s still a driver oriented car.... now this site pretty much finds every reason they can to shit on it and find any

I mostly listen to what friends who work for Lexus have to say and customers that come into my work who have a Lexus as their daily. The consensus is that while it’s not a very attractive car, it’s still stupid reliable, drives great, and is built amazingly. Which I agree with. There are a ton of people who buy Lexus

Yeah it’s not the easiest swap and there’s not much of an aftermarket, but to be fair there’s little aftermarket for any Nissan engine that isn’t a VQ or VG30DETT.

I’m really not though. Lexus has fine styling the issue is that grille and headlight design is absolute shit. I’m fine with unique looking cars. I hate Mercedes, Audi, BMW, etc for doing the “same sausage different lengths” styling.

I’ve never had people cross shopping at my work actually buy the Lexus. Usually it’s “it’s reliable, doesn’t depreciate as bad, and is cheaper.... but it’s hideous”

It’s not often opinions are wrong, but this is one of those few times.

You can make a car that’s good looking without being done up with literally all of the angles. You don’t have to make your design language acute triangles.
