I’ve seen snow tires a ton in south jersey. Hell I’m 150-200 miles west from you and I see a ton of cars with snow tires

Except they are far from “POS”. They serve an actual purpose. Since the move to fuel injection and the ultimate goal of weight savings, engines aren’t good looking. It’s time to just stop the idiotic “LOL ENGINE COVERZ SUK!” rhetoric because it continues to make you look like a fool.

I can’t think of an engine cover in the last 10 years that required any kind of tools to remove. There is plenty that use push clips or the screw in kind (far from fragile unless you’re an idiot), but that’s around the outside of the engine (covering mostly wires, reservoir tanks, etc).

But Jalops aren’t reasonable people. Because god forbid the minimum wage kid in detail has to spend 2 extra minutes removing a decal.

And in a universe of infinite probabilities... I didn’t have sex with that white woman.

The Cayenne is a decent looking SUV. Sorry. You’ll just have to deal with it.

lol. This idiotic argument as usual. The Cayenne shares the super basic unibody architecture with the VW, and the VR6 engine. That is literally it. I’m sure you think the Camaro and ATS are the same exact car too.

Well. When it has winter tires. And when it doesn’t have “Cayenne,” “Macan”, or “Panamera” on the rear of it. yeah.
Actually Boxsters and Caymans aren’t very good in the snow either. But they’re better than the Sedan and SUVs.

The Polo is a significantly smaller car. Which would explain the issue concerning the B-Pillar.
The Volvo if you watch has little rearward movement that is significant in the collision. Even in a head on collision it wouldn’t be that significant.

This is the biggest bit of bullshit I’ve read on this site.

I drove a rental in FL in the summer (I wager much hotter and humid too) and had absolutely no issue. Same in 100 degree weather in Atlanta.
I’m by no means a fan of the car. But I’m not going to find idiotic reasons to hate something. Especially considering I’ve driven two now that had the opposite issue you

I think GM definitely aimed to get this to be the first case to set precedent for sure.
But the worst part is everyone else on Jalopnik is now suddenly experts of the US Legal System and in the past 12 hours got their law degrees. So they’re all the leading sources of course.

Completely disagree. I’ve done just fine with RWD cars in the snow and the right tires. I actually got around better than I did in my Xterra.

You don’t need FWD or 4WD, it helps in some cases. But definitely not all of them. It all comes down to the driver.

The Mazda based Escort (this one) actually wasn’t that bad. It was a fun little car to toss around.
I remember driving it and $3k is absolutely fucking absurd for it. I don’t care how clean it is. This is a $1500 car at most.

You mean a company devoting time to help squeeze out a little more efficiency so they can keep making things like this are “wasting time?” Well damn. I found the econobox driver.

Except auto start stop doesn’t operate unless the vehicle reaches a certain set of parameters. And one of those included is state of charge with the battery.

That’s really become blown out of proportion. It’s significantly reduced. When is the last time you’ve had a Direct Injection engine apart? Because I can tell you the last time I did. And it wasn’t because of carbon buildup on the valves.

When auto start/stop came out we were prepared. We thought we’d be changing starters like gangbusters. And all (unfortunately) under warranty.
But truth be told. In terms of being related to auto start/stop? I’ve done maybe a handful. If that.

Except it doesn’t do ANY of those things. And I work with the systems.
Gas mileage it changes more than you think. Even then, people spend more time in traffic than you think.

How long were you sitting? Did you just turn the car off?
