The only complaint I can gather from the SNS thread about him is “he comments a lot” which is not a criticism worth spending any time on whatsoever.
“The office of sheriff is a critical part of the Anglo-American heritage of law enforcement,”
Good question, excellent answer.
he slaughtered two people, wtf.
Re: Kim and Sarah
Yes, it was. It was his story and his perspective. Not sure why he’s getting ripped for seeing the world through his lens.
I will never get Sacha Baron Cohen. The guy has great skill and eye for comedy at times but so much of his recent stuff has been hot garbage and now it seems to be getting worse...
As a stylist, this makes my heart very happy.
Yup. My “coven” (well, my group of bookish, variably witchy NYC ladies) basically has an official hairstylist - he sees so many of us! And he’s a wonderful conversationalist as well as being great at both cuts and colors.
There are tens (if not hundreds) of thousands of homeless children in Nairobi.
I went to get my bangs trimmed once and my stylist was running behind so another girl offered to do them and i refused. I won’t let anyone else cut my hair. I don’t even have that kind of relationship with my doctor. Like if other doctor can see me sooner, sure! I could never pick someone off an app, for some reason…
That’s the thing, having your hair done is really personal to most people, and once we find a good hairdresser, we’re unlikely to switch. I stumbled onto mine and once I had her do my hair once, we clicked and I’ve been going to her for probably almost 10 years now. Now that’s like our time to connect and catch up…
This was terrific story!
True. I found my salon through Yelp, but I keep going back because they specialize in Black hair and use products I love (plus they’re next door to my favorite bar). I send pretty much all my Black girlfriends (and one Jewish girl with a texture similar to mine) there and it is magical.
“The plan had seemed so simple when it was hatched in their mom’s basement.”
I’ve been with my hair guy for more than 30 years, 3 salons, and three different colors of dye. I dare an online service to understand all of my damn cowlicks! And more than that, I certainly prefer to go someplace where somebody gets paid to sweep up all the cut hair, because you know that would be me at home.
I found my stylist/salon by word of mouth a decade ago, and have sent many people there similarly. Getting your hair done is so so so specific, that it’s hard to do through an app.
To be perfectly honest, the #1 reason I would never use this app is because I don’t want strangers coming into my home. Fucking yikes. Talk about awkward town.
