Can you really have too many mad scientist produced dinosaurs?

My inability to take pathos seriously at all has ruined so many movie outings. The Notebook was definitely the worst in terms of how upset my friends were!

YES. Mayo is the one thing I won't eat- and I can't believe how hard it is for people to wrap their heads around that.

Yeah, I did think it kind of made things easier for me. :)

Yeah, it's like she thinks everything is actually twice as expensive with two people. It is... it is not.

Sorry, and this is a bit off topic, but it irritates me so much when people don't realize how much more expensive it is to be single. (And I am not saying that you were suggesting this). I have this one friend who makes barely less than I do (which isn't all that much) and is always complaining about how great it must

One of the things that is so hard to get across to Europeans sometimes is just how expensive it is for North Americans to travel to other countries. It's just so (relatively) cheap and close over there.

The class difference is SO much different. I'm a Canadian who lived in the UK for a couple of years, and I'd say our class system isn't quite so money based as the American one, but we definitely don't have anything like you have over there.

She's so lovely, but this is such a boring dress.

I don't know, but I kind of love it?

The thing about being not being overly sensitive, or not trying to constantly make a mountain out of a molehill is that, in my experience, it's learned behaviour.

The harassment thing might have something to do with where you live. I didn't experience much at all in my home town, but had some really bad incidents when I moved to the big city (as cliche as that sounds).

What i do is just invinvisibly sew hook and eye fasteners into the inside seams of the shirt in between the buttons. It's cheap and works amazingly well.

English speaking people have been using 'they' as a gender neutral pronoun since at least Chaucer. The overboard prescriptive whining didn't come until WAY later during the 19th century mania to create hard and fast grammatical rules.

I mean... you have read Joyce's letters to his wife, right?

I'm sorry, but I am so weirded out that Americans call ground beef hamburger. I don't know why- I've never heard anyone do it in real life, but it pops up in internet recipes from the States as well. Is this a common thing? Surely ground beef is ground beef until it is made into an actual hamburger patty?

I dunno, stacking the holidays seems like a reason TO do it to me. Saves you having to celebrate and remember two separate occasions. (Clearly I am a deeply romantic person).

I've got to say that I've always been tempted (should I ever get married) to suggest Valentines day. I'm not too big on romantic celebrations/making a fuss of any kind, and as a bonus it's also my birthday!

See this is just even more depressing. They're TRYING to make Bud Light taste that way?
