I am against violins on television!

Ben Carson is not Chris Christie.

Of all the mind-bogglingly offensive aspects of this clusterfuck, the fact that she was subjected to that line of questioning, despite rape shield laws, is one of the most horrifying, and least talked about.

You might be kinda toxic if the current Super Bowl MVP lets you crash on his couch for a couple of days, and ends up having to go on Dancing with the fucking Stars just to rehabilitate his image.

I’m not a “Jezzie” or whatever you call it. Like you, I’m a sports read Deadspin daily, and sometimes I click on crossposts (just watched my Warriors kick ass!). However, I was once a victim of a crime similar to this one. I was raped while intoxicated and unconscious during the summer between 8th grade and my

That doctor can kindly go fuck himself.

I can personally attest that all of this is absolutely true, from both sides of the fence. I had reduction surgery at 19 (25 years ago). Thank you for explaining to me how I had the incorrect response to being raped. I never realized I was doing it wrong! The next time I am raped, I will be sure to take your advice and respond appropriately.

Ditto.

I still have days like that, and it’s been way longer than that for me. That’s not to say it doesn’t get better, but those thought patterns are heavily reinforced by the world around you. When I was a teenager (and after I had been assaulted while drunk at a party, unbeknownst to any adult in my life), my parents -

It’s not quite that straight-forward, because when we discuss “fight vs. flight” responses to danger, we almost always forget the third option: “freeze.” That’s what the above post describes - she was unconscious when it started, but when she woke up, she physically could have stopped him. She didn’t, because she

Seriously. From what I’ve seen of Burning Man, it’s basically just Thunderdome if everyone got too baked and forgot what they were fighting about.
