I think the improvement in quality between the first episode and the tenth is impressive. Just imagine how much better the show can be in its second season!

That's a key difference between this show and Archer. Moonbeam City has a wonderful level of absurdist, silly humor that you don't find in shows like Archer.

Yep, much like Rad's physique outside of his jumpsuit

Yeah, that's true. Perhaps it did have more to do with content.

Gallefreyan technology renders this a moot point.

Tweet at Comedy Central and comment on the Moonbeam City facebook page. Let them know that it would be a mistake to cancel an award nominated show after only one season. I mean, they gave Brickleberry three seasons, for cying out loud! (no offense to Brickleberry, but it didn't have a fraction of the style, either

I'm 99% sure the FCC can only regulate over-the-air broadcast television, not cable or sat. So I think ratings had more to do with it than content (though content may have contributed)

I'm guessing Comedy Central won't make any decision until at least February 6, when we'll learn if Moonbeam City wins the award for best animated show (it's up against The Simpsons, Bob's Burgers and BoJack Horseman)

Agreed. And Moonbeam City has now been nominated the best animated show, based on the dolphin episode ("Quest for Aquatica").

I sure hope that Comedy Central renews Moonbeam City for a second season. The move to 1 AM is a bad sign, but the fact that the show has been nominated for an Annie Award has me holding out hope. The fact that Moonbeam City was nominated while Archer was not will hopefully convince people to give it another chance

These Archer comparisons aren't particularly on the mark. This show is far more absurdist, a bit closer to Sealab 2021 or Frisky Dingo/The Xtacles. Also the animation and particularly the sound is better than Archer IMO. I also appreciate that they have a smaller tighter cast of main characters (4 person ensemble

But wait, Archer records the voices separately too. I'm not sure if Moonbeam City does, but I would guess so (particularly because of the busy work schedules of Will Forte and Rob Lowe).
