Here's a post I did for LH about using Mint to make tax season easier. Good planning and tactics to put in place now (i.e. BEFORE tax season). http://lifehacker.com/5990733/four-w…

Yes - listen to FlowerGirlPhysicist. Definitely frost bit my skin with one of these dish soap ice packs. Be careful.
Oops.
Could not agree more. It's like crack for me. If I see a bag or pocket dump of any kind, I have to read in it's entirety. I have items that I carry everyday, but they are not that special. For some reason I LOVE seeing what other people carry. Glad I'm not the only one confused by my fascination :).
Brett Kelly's Evernote Essentials is a great resource for those who really want to learn Evernote inside and out (I'm not affiliated in any way). Awesome e-book. http://nerdgap.com/landing/evernote-essentials/
@Alan Henry -
Would love if they could do hourly. I know they do the 48 hour "detailed" forecast, but it just goes afternoon, evening, morning. My ocd wants hourly :)
Was able to download wireless tether (finally) using this method on my Droid X. Got it up and running but when I connected another device via the wifi from my phone, it still brought me to the Verizon (you must pay to make your phone a hotspot) page. Did I miss a step?
So is it true that, despite what the CMD site says, there is no stable version of CMD 7.1 for the Droid X? I couldn't find it anywhere. When I searched ROM Manager, after flashing Motorola Droid X (2nd init), I saw CMD but when I clicked on it, nothing happened. Got taken to a blank screen and that was it.
If you're getting an error message that says "Manifest file is missing or unreadable." - check out Comment 3 in this link - fixed it right up for me. [code.google.com]
Do you know of a good instructional for building a browser extension? Think that could be a future LH post? I don't have a ton of coding experience, so the most basic instructional would be best. Thanks if you can help! Tim
Lost my phone on Friday but I had downloaded Seek Droid a while ago so I thought that would help. Less than an hour after I lost the phone (meaning the battery still had power) I brought up the website to search for the phone. All I ever saw was "message sent to phone, please wait." That's it. Never got further than…

Looking for a free (or even paid at this point) doc scanner app that will create a PDF, will not shrink the PDF, can input multi-page scans, and has sharing ability. Anyone have a good recommendation for an Android version?
Anyone tried this with Sugru?
Am I the only one that hates the keyboard options? Maybe it's just me, but the space bar is WAY to small on the native keyboard (Droid X) as well as on swype, gingerbread, and swiftkey. I end up hitting the unnecessarily large (.) button, and not the unnecessarily small space bar every other word. I never had this…
How do I set up an external hard drive to regularly backup the passworded files? I'd like to automate this if I could, but I'm afraid I'd manually have to do the back up. Any advice?
@bookwench: Fair enough - good point.
Just your standard dish washer soap will do the trick. I use it all the time and I've turned many a dingy coffee decanter into looking brand-new.
I also find scrubbing my sink with powered dish washer detergent does a great job. The bleaching agent and the abrasiveness of the powder work really well. Also try using it to clean your coffee pot - the difference between the detergent and normal dish soap is amazing.
