I dont think a dark peanuts would sell today. As you pointed out that phase of the peanuts is long gone. Hell I’m in my forties and I had no idea was so dark until they did the 50th Anniversary rerelease. I grew up on the Peanuts of the 70s and by then Snoopy was already the main focus of strips.
