The one thing the Emmy's did was remind me just how unenthusiastic I am for the new tv season.

Hasn't that been the pattern for several seasons now…?

A fair question, but one that's failed to stop how many new series from going to air yet…?

I know there's supposed to be no such thing as "watching it wrong"…

I'm still not sure where I land on this one…

"So what? No fuckin' ziti now?"

Isn't this a stripped down version of Drive - i.e., the Nathan Fillion show Fox cancelled after 4 episodes?

Dammit, I'm actually tearing up right now. Of course, I really only cry when I'm angry and I really want to rage at the world for this show being cancelled. I can't remember the last time I've felt this way about a cancellation…

Why are people still shocked when attention whores act out in order to grab/hold the spotlight?

@avclub-cb0e59b8f769a8698b9f7154dd8809b5:disqus - setting aside that everything about her is trying too hard…

Ferg has been awesome this season! I gave a little cheer when he revealed he dropped his watch in the back of that pick-up - he's become way more than some bumbling rube. And the scene where he revealed his feelings about Cady to Branch was really quite heartfelt.

"I don't burn bridges. I burn rivers."

And not just any murderous cop - Lee Tergesen in full on sleeze mode!

I'm in agreement, but would that tv magic worked that way, I'd smother Nashville in its sleep to get John Hawkes and Stephen Root back on my television each week…

I thought my Jew sense was tingling…

I'm shocked they managed to imagine a one hour show that wasn't about cops or doctors or lawyers…

I've always been perplexed by Law & Order: SVU's staying power, but now that I'm reminded of VC Andrews' longevity, I don't exactly understand it, but I realize there was a precedent…

@avclub-3ef00cbe8a65af09beddab1c55e103fd:disqus  - that reminds me of the story that someone badly wanted Connery for Hannibal Lector in Silence of the Lambs.

Speaking of magical thinking…

I saw the one promo cut featuring the scene where Sudeikis asks for the desperate company man's haircut and the thought crossed my mind that there is potential for a really wonderfully dark comedy to come out of this concept.
