Nope, it's me having free reign to use British English, being from England and all!

Helps that the show is visually stunning at times too. There's a shot in the first episode when I realized this wasn't going to be like any other MTV show. Perfect balance of story telling, drama, scares and humor. It really has a lot working against it, but whoa, great television. Also doesn't hurt that

We can shut down this thread. We have the answer.

I don't read the comic and this looked like a cheap attempt to cash on a movie that anyone with eyes could see would be awful. I should have had more faith in Dini for making yet another completely awesome show. Too bad that awful movie doomed it.

Two for me:

Surprisingly good with after they got over the Twilight-y beginning. Great mythology, great characters (of all backgrounds). Impressive all considering.

Had never heard of it. Didn't know about the book.

Hannibal:

At the risk of double-posting and over-generalizing, I'm noting a trend here. It seems like their whole "it's hot people, don't think about it" has turned from cynicism to an incredibly well-executed ploy to get people watching genuinely decent genre programming. Even my friends who don't like genre shows often end up

Hannibal: yet another serial killer show ... on a broadcast network ... from source material that's already been done and re-done of film. Yea, that's not gonna be good.

No contest at all. I laughed and ridiculed the very premise of Sleepy Hollow. I only watched the first show because I had read here that it was good and it piqued my interest —and I still expected to dislike it.

I spent years thinking this was nothing but CW-style pretty-people-with-no-substance-can-only-be-a-guilty-pleasure show. Then, I got drunk one night in June, accidentally mis-clicked on it on Netflix, didn't have the wherewithal to click back, and figured it would be my new target for schadenfreude viewing.

Sleepy Hollow, without a doubt. When I heard the concept my eyes rolled so hard they nearly busted out of their sockets. Then I watched it.

I mean, did ANYONE think Sleepy Hollow would work? Sure, it's still batshit insane most of the time, but I still think it's fun.

This sonofabitch right here!

I'm sorry.

Tom Hiddleston in Cap's uniform ("so tight")? I can think of a few fangirls (and boys) who just lost it.
