Except that the quote I posted doesn’t really make sense as a comment on human behavior. People believed the geocentric model not because of groupthink, but because the sun, moon, and all the stars really do appear to go around us. Way before that, people believed the earth was flat because it doesn’t seem curved to

Counterpoint: “Let me tell you about scared. Your heart is beating so hard I can feel it through your hands. There’s so much blood and oxygen pumping through your brain it’s like rocket fuel. Right now you could run faster and you could fight harder, you could jump higher than ever in your life. And you are so alert

That’s a good quote independently, but I don’t think it especially fits with the rest.

“Fifteen hundred years ago everybody knew the Earth was the center of the universe. Five hundred years ago, everybody knew the Earth was flat, and fifteen minutes ago, you knew that humans were alone on this planet. Imagine what you’ll know tomorrow.”

This sounds fantastic... but the best part has to be the quote from John Cage’s 4'33".

Waddayamean, if? They already have that reputation.

I’m actually kind of glad of that. If we’d have cared about them more, we’d have come out of the theater crying that they died instead of cheering that they succeeded. Jyn and Cassian were sufficient, nothing more.

Quality work.

He’s not in it much, but he makes his minutes COUNT.

They reached the technological singularity and became... the galaxy’s IT guys. Feel kind of bad for the Bynars.

TNG’s is only the most memorable because it’s the most bombastic. DS9's theme, especially starting in season 4, is better, and Voyager’s theme is at least equal to that.

My siblings and I have gotten really, really good at identifying characters in blind bags based on the accessories we can feel. One time, we got like six blind bags, tried to figure out what they were before we opened them, and got them all right. So blind bags aren’t insurmountable.

Sadly, the GM will never let you summon one. Darths and Droids 4eva!

“Federation-y.” Good word for it. I knew exactly which track you were talking about when I read that adjective.

I stand corrected. I had just been looking at what he directed and wrote.

If you’re saying that all of Brad Bird’s work for Pixar happened after Disney acquired it, that’s simply not true. The Incredibles was two years before the acquisition, and Ratatouille a year after it (which means that a lot of the work on the film happened before the acquisition.

He did more work for Warner Bros. actually. Looking through his IMDb page, it doesn’t look he did any work for Disney before his work for Pixar. Mostly, he did stuff for Warner Bros. He also did some work on the Simpsons, which is Fox.

Which company are you referring to? Pixar? Because “just light humor, fluffy songs, and dance numbers” describes precisely zero of Pixar’s movies. Well, maybe the Cars movies, but still no dance numbers. And if you’re referring to Disney, he was with Pixar before Disney acquired it.

Don’t you dis Brad Bird. He’s one of

I know, I just saw that on his Wikipedia page. It honestly increases my excitement for the film substantially.

No surprise. Michael Giacchino is just amazing. His work with Pixar, in particular, is some of my favorite music. He did Inside Out, Up, Ratatoullie, and The Incredibles, and they’re all amazing in such different ways.
