Right? I was even thinking "this is Brooklyn Nine-Nine at its best" before going to read this review. :P

Oh I love convincing people in my life to watch my favourite shows! Since B99 is a half-hour comedy it seems it should be especially easy to get people to watch it, but I've found it difficult (turns out my friends are even more wary of silly shows than serious shows and they think this one looks silly). I hope your

I think it might be even more important, or potentially effective, to get serious once in a while on a comedy show. Many people who don't watch dramas, especially if they focus on issues like racism, watch B99 for the laughs and occasionally get a dose of social commentary as an added bonus. That's a good thing!

    Yes! Nominations, now!

I cried several times, and laughed several times. I think the episode delivered just the right range of emotions considering the subject matter - and I'm glad they chose to tackle it. Definitely not just a B. I might not go with A+, but a simple A.

I think it was too low considering how great the scenes with the cast that were in focus was. If someone has a preference for episodes where all the cast gets to do something interesting, fine. But narrower focus in one episode doesn't feel like enough to bring it down to a B.

Hehehe. Female dogs do have puppies from time to time!

"It’s not the show at its best". Uhm… The scenes with Terry and Holt was definitely the show at its absolute best, in the serious category - which is also part of the show. In fact, I didn't think any part of this episode stopped feeling like Brooklyn Nine Nine. It's always been prone to the occasional really serious

Did you read my comment or just skim it? Because I think it's clear that I think the reasons behind it will effect the outcome*, and that's the issue I have with it (as well as being annoyed that's what some guys care about - but that's more of a specific, smaller discussion).

If you're stuck on a single word in PT:s response to your comments, I don't think my vocabulary is the problem. Could you stop obsessing over that small detail?

Huh? Which side am I faking being on in this theory of yours?

Good on her! Probably better that way for you too. I hope you work up the courage to end it yourself (sooner) if you ever end up in that situation again.

That could be part of it. Gender still matters though, as the gender-reversed version of the trope is uncommon, but nerd girls and insecure girls most definitely do exist (and watch movies and TV shows). As well as nerdy gay men and women of course.

Or you know, interact with people but don't be an ass.

That last thing is missing the point a little yes. But not as much as the comments Purple Tentacle was criticizing.

If the reason is to cater to straight men's sexual fantasies then there's a big risk that that will show in the characters + plot, as well as which women within different types that are allowed on the screen. So it's not as simple as you make it out to be.

I interpret it very similarly, so maybe it's either just an honest misunderstanding or you need to learn how to express yourself clearer?

No they're not. I think you should take it down a notch - Purple Tentacle hasn't said anything deserving of that anger.
