I think it works! I would also add, without the creativity of a table-setting analogy, that main characters are usually the window we see the story and its characters through, and if it's too complicated/heavily tinted, then that can distract us and make it difficult to immerse ourselves in the story (I apparently

Not everyone rates characters according to how entertaining they are! Spike is definitely the most entertaining, but Buffy is a more well-crafted, rounded character (According to me). If I agreed she's boring I wouldn't have picked her though.

I think she has the best character development on the show too. Even better than Willow!

I've loved plenty of shows where the main character isn't my favourite but none where I actively dislike them. Dawson's creek would be the closest, but then I neither *love* that show nor think Dawson is really the main character.

Kilgrave is a great villain, but Jessica is a better character. That's what I think!

I love Buffy too! I think even if people don't like her they should agree she had a good character arc and a great actress.

PEGGY. Kara's been having a rough second half of the second season (confused writers seem to think her relationship with Mon-El is somehow interesting?), but generally I agree about her.

He's flawed and complex and that usually makes for good characters. I think both Veronica and Keith beat Logan though.

I still think Leslie is a better character, byt yes, Ben is awesome.

Keith is a very good second best character.

You may be right about Tina, I'll give you that.

Yes. She is definitely the best character on the show. 2nd place to Keith.

Watching a play with an unlikeable lead isn't quite the same as following a TV show though…

That's a nice perspective! I find her pretty annoying, so I wasn't rooting for them, but I think you're right. (And the kiss was cute.)

It was definitely bullshit! But I guess if you believe the same, essentially harmless, bullshit that shows some type of compatibility? I wish they hadn't treated Shosh the way they did when discussing it though.

I think I'd categorize them similarly. Jessa and Marnie both end up in the "never" for sure! And Hannah really has evolved.

I think she's bothered by it, but the fact that her friend hits it off with someone she really dislikes is enough to bother her, isn't it? And I'd hate to be treated the way she was in their conversation about the pretty view/pretty building conversation, regardless of how I felt about the people involved.

I'd love to see something good happen for Shosh. Anything, really.

Oh you straight men are always so nervous about your sexuality! I don't think you need to worry - few people are 100% straight 100% of the time, but that doesn't mean you need to question your whole identity. Though a little questioning doesn't hurt either. :P
