That interrogation scene, though…
I read somewhere that he wants to do something like "Baraka", which sounds crazy but amazing to me. I'd love for him to keep doing narrative films, but he can do whatever he wants.
What are you talking about? Bernal still has the Canana project with Diego Luna. I don't get why people get so uppity about mexican artists leaving Mexico when our country has turned to shit in so many ways and always has been. We don't have a real film industry here.
That's uh, vaguely racist?
It was okay. Its flaws seemed to be more because of the directing than the writing.
People can be as cynical all they want about it, but they can't match what my mom said after it was over: "I'll probably be dead by the time this comes out"
I find his style distracting. He works with great actors (and gets great performances out of them) and with solid scripts, but the guy has an obsession with style and not a good one, it often clashes with the material instead of enhancing it.
Despite Mara as Tiger Lily, this doesn't look too bad. It even looks magical in a way. Although I would've preferred the Max Landis alternate retelling of this.
Tom Hooper is a good director?
Friday, not much. It was kind of a sad day. I didn't have my class of the day because the professor had to travel to Spain because his sister had died and there's a chance I won't be seeing him again until January. I don't see him much in general, but he's a great instructor and I like having class with him, and I…
I'm really glad it's working out for you! I hope things get better and better as they go on.
Best of luck with the job! This day has been okay so far. Relaxed but busy. I don't have classes today, but I've been working on things from home. Not much else to say in that regard.
What's exactly wrong with AMC and Regal? I'm asking because I've never been to either and every time I travel, they seem to be the only theater chains around, so just wondering in case I end up seeing a movie in another town.
Eh, PoA is probably one of the most cohesive of these movies. I'll give you that Half.-Blood Prince kinda feels like an adaptation of the wrong aspects of the book, but it's still a very good movie.
Bottle Rocket? Although it's not really depressing. The ending is kinda sad.
Best of luck in your job. I'm sure therapy will help you out a lot. Try to focus on your work, don't sweat it. I hope I don't come off as if I'm brushing it all off, because I'm not, I have anxiety issues and working keeps me focused. You'll make it fine to Wednesday, you'll see. Go through the day with small moves:…
I hope this all goes better for you. Searching for a job is always tough and I hope you can catch a break very soon.
The hips that launched a thousand tips.
What about them french girls?
I watched this last week in Mexico, and it sounded just fine. This just confirms to me that american theaters seem to have crappy sound set ups. Then again, so do quite a few mexican ones. Movies rarely sound as cool as they did when I was a kid.
