Hail Marvel.

Star Wars: Episode VII - Ya me cansé
Star Wars: Episode VII - No era penal

Yeah, but even missing the satire, I don't know how you could read it and expect an adaptation that's lighter in tone or humor.

Well, of course they're from the comic, it was an adaptation. And I think the Hallelujah scene was stupid and funny, but I disagree that it was unintentional. And if you read the comic, it's obviously a satire, but the overall tone of it is dark, so it fits the bleak sensibility you're describing. I don't know how you

All of the characters have at least a few funny lines (especially and surprisingly Rorschach), the "Hallelujah" scene, the prison break, etc. Also, the overall sense of satire of the superhero genre and tropes.

I don't like that Snyder seems to ignore his own sense of humor in films. Dawn of the Dead had a lot of amazing darkly comic moments, and people crap on the humor in Watchmen, but it shows a tremendous amount of self-awareness that didn't fully work, but was there at least.

Probably because a lot of critics put down comedies, and they're normally ignored at the Academy Awards or a lot of film festivals?

I honestly don't read King much in general (both old and new) but I really liked 11/22/63. It does get too long and meandering in spots, but it was a fun read, that gets very disturbing and surprisingly romantic in spots.

It is bombastic. There are thoughts where I thought "Come on, Nolan. This scene is already emotional as it is. No need to lay it on so thick" but the best part is that the score and the overal movie itself know when to stay silent.

I watched Interstellar, and sure, it is flawed but maybe it was my lowered expectations but I went out of the theater wowed and moved. Also Zimmer's score is stuck in my head and on the verge of making me cry because it makes me remember the movie. I was disappointed that the album won't be out for another week!

(POTENTIAL SPOILERS)

Eh, bedridden, but one of the first scenes of The Sea Inside is like this.

My fifteen year old self is like "Oh, I guess they'll finally adapt them as they should then" and my 24 year old self responds "Ditto."

As someone who lives in the city that was once called the murder capital of the world, those lines are ad-verbatim from town hall meetings and the press conferences we had here when things were totally fucked.

I'll defend to death some of the dialogue in TDK, but I hate that guy. I guess he was there for comic relief, but I really hated that he wouldn't shut up at all.

Yeah, I don't know what you're all on about. The composition of his shots look great. His movies aim for a naturalistic look and it works very well in grounding the stories he wants to tell. This really heightened the mood of Insomnia, for example, which was great to watch in the theater.

No, no, no. Social and political insights about shrinking from an actor who's never been shrunk himself!

Did you think it was too long or you think the length was just fine? Did the intercutting between the mission and Earth work for you?

I watched it, and to my taste, Upstream Color could've used some more exposition, although I don't know if that's really the problem that movie had for me.

Some people are bashing the movie because the science is inaccurate, and then this happens. Although, honestly, I'm one of those people that thinks that if you're going to try to make a scientifically accurate film about wormholes and the like, you probably wouldn't have a movie at all. They are theories and if you're
