Exactly! It seemed like too much was hung on the amnesia aspect of the story. It was a good episode, but a more traditional heist film structure would've make it work better, I think. I wanted more out of the concept overall.

They've wanted to do it for at least 5 years, of course, given all their push towards making movies out of these other properties, they were going to make it. I like Snyder's work, but I think his sensibilities would suit this material.
Didn't they say the show was going to end circa 1997? I remember it being on the paper and everything, but the local papers tend to buy too much into rumors.
Jokes?
And Run, Fatboy Run is fun.
I loved "Tideland." I still think it's his best work since "12 Monkeys."
Me too, the first one, at least. But honestly, even the movies that were most liked like "Date Night" and "Real Steel" bored me, although the latter started off really well.
Ah, now it makes perfect sense. I gotta say, it's pretty short for telenovela standards…I think. My family and friends are very disconnected from latinamerican TV, so I know what novelas exist, but not for how long they run.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but did they finish off so quickly because they were airing 5 episodes per week?
Alternative: Me cogí a Ted.
He's a cool character (or was? I haven't watched the show properly in years), so fuck them.
I love Krispy Kreme, I love doughnuts in general, but I got diabetes just from reading the descriptions.
I agree. The movie was fine but the short story carried a lot more power.
Yeah, again, I think that widening the scope would've worked if Anno had stuck around. The guy has a real feel for character drama and comedy, and knows how to make it feel real. i think the show acquired a weird, zany tone after he left that just didn't fit all of the storylines. I'd love to see something like it on…
If we're talking anime, I think Kare Kano (His and Her Circumstances) is one of the best of it's kind, or at least it was for about 80% of its run, and it shows that romcom structure can work really well on TV. That said, it also allowed itself to explore other characters that were completely tangential to the main…
I know people who work for El Paso Times and yeah, the portrayal is pretty close to reality.
Sort of, but my perception of the town has been like that since the first episode. Although remember that dream Matt has where his hands catch fire? That was a big Incinerate!/Devil's Kiss flashback for me.
True. Also Time After Time is very good.
They've kept alluding to Goliath this whole season, wouldn't it be funny if David ended up being Ray? He learns of Charlotte's death and he goes on a vengeance rampage. In all honesty, I'd watch a grindhouse revenge action/comedy starring Ray.
That got me too. This show has done a great job portraying the sort of collateral killing that ensues in these kinds of shoot-outs in Juárez. This one happened in El Paso, I know, but it feels right at home in the show's world.
