I completely agree with you. The book was at its best when it was being subtle, too much of the book felt like finding a used copy of the novel, scribbled all over by a bored High Schooler. Before reading it, I was expecting it to be a complete reinvention of the story, I pictured it as a "Shaun of the Dead" set in

That book really needed the District 9 treatment.

Yeah, I like the movie and I own it. I still think it would've been a better film if it was closer to something more narratively anarchic like "Monty Python and the Holy Grail", rather than being so adhered to the 3-act structure. Although finding a way to adhere to that is what got the movie made, it seems.

It ain't me, babe. No, no, no. It ain't me you're looking for, babe.

I've read somewhere he has edited his own Wikipedia article, but mostly to add bad things about himself. Worst Twitter account ever, though? I don't think so. He can be pretty obnoxious, but he has a lot of smart, fun things to say from time to time. I like and hate the fact that he's pretty much the only screenwriter

It is! It's actually a pretty fun ride!

It does. I was actually thinking the other day that something that focuses on the Mods and Rockers would be great to do. I like the film of Quadrophenia, but I love the album, and there's a lot about that world and time that could be explored.

Desi is like a real-life, extreme Ted Mosby. I wouldn't have said that before the ending, but now I feel all right saying it.

"Fast food burger", is there any other kind of burger?

So you don't like burgers, fine by me.

I'm working on my thesis project for my Master's if that counts. I've written a bunch of scripts, many which I've made into short films and right now, I'm trying to make features or at least write them. I've also written a lot of short stories, poems, and I've been in bands. I'd love to start a band or at least do a

How about "Working on a novel", I personally like that one a bit better, because at least it implies that it hasn't been or won't be your only literary output. Also, I gotta say, how is this guy so sure they never finished? I write scripts and pretty much finish all of them, and sometimes I do tweet or tell people

Also, some of the menonite groups in Chihuahua have gotten into conflict with cartels over extorsions, killings and taking over their lands.

It's a pretty bad film, although interesting in style at least. From what I've heard, Paul Thomas Anderson worked on a draft of the script, I would like to read it.

Demme shot "The Truth About Charlie" in 2.35:1. I think it's his only one, though.

I can't agree. Not a bad film by any means, but that was my main problem with it; it struck me more as a filmed play than anything else, while also trying to be a movie, undermining both languages. It's such a powerful story, though.

Yes it was.

If anything, it looks like she could be the best part of the movie. I've always liked her, but with this and "Begin Again" (although I've heard that one is good) I feel like she's showing some dynamism I hadn't seen in her before.

I know, seeking underage sex and murdering people is a scary combo.

That guy was for real? I thought he was supposed to be a parody of MRAs!
