Does the first "solo" album count? Because I love that one, but didn't really get into the other ones. There's some good stuff in there, though.

So this show is slowly getting better? Should I just jump in and watch it?
Right now in Mexico, we have a fair amount of controversy involving celebrities animal hunting and circuses and bull runs using animals for entertainment. I don't know who, but someone did a meme of that Spielberg photo a while back, long before Jay Branscomb and from what I saw, people took it as a joke and laughed…
They are. Here's the thing: The femicides ARE true. They've happened. And it is a big problem here. One which hasn't really been solved, but since 2007 or so, violence has affected different sectors of society, not just women. The difference was that the killings of women seemed something ritualistic and the job of a…
A lot of people have complained about the show here in Juarez, and in El Paso too. But as someone who lives on the border, I've found it to be the most sensitive and accurate portrayal of this place. I think Juarez carries a huge dark image, but that's the reality of it. However, it's also a place where people live,…
I actually liked the american version more than any of the other ones. It makes better use of the setting and the characters. That said, there were things the danish/swedish version did better than the american one.
I think Snyder is a very talented guy. His Dawn of the Dead remake is probably the best of its kind, 300 was all right for what it was. I admire that he's rather risky for a Hollywood director. No one wanted to touch Watchmen and he pulled it off, but since then, he seems to be more focused in claiming some kind of…
I've always heard that kind of criticism about a lot of hip hop songs (and I'm in Mexico, so I'll throw in reggeaton into the mix), but I think that the complaints against "Blurred Lines" are so prominent because so many outlets are publishing articles about it, and they're easily accessible because of social media.
It will never go away. It can never be undone.
That's pretty much what it is, though. And it's an okay film, it has its moments but it's probably my least favorite film of his.
Then again, it does help that the movie doesn't allow itself all about whimsy. Allowing the audience and the characters to deal with the more disturbing parts of their reality is part of why that movie works so well. It does take a while to get there, but it never becomes all about the quirkiness.
And from what I understand, they make plenty of movies a year. I am not sure if more than Hollywood, but I get the impression they love their own cinema and culture.
I still wonder how accurate that is, though. The subtitles thing, that is. I live in Mexico and most films are subtitled and that's how people like it, if anything, people complain when they can't get a subtitled version of a film as well as a dubbed one. It's not like everyone else in the world can't read or doesn't…
It makes me sad that a friend will probably see this even though he knows it will suck instead of Inherent Vice, because he loves the Broadway musical so much and he hated "The Master."
Back when I was in Middle School, my school hosted an arts and sports competition with other schools that were part of the same system, and we went up against a theater adaptation of "Newsies." This was ten years ago, long before the Broadway adaptation. How they got away with that, I have no idea, but "bootleg shows"…
Anytime.
From what I hear, this is based on a mexican series called "Terminales", which was pretty much a dark comedy. It wasn't really a good show, but definitely something interesting in the mist of all the crappy telenovelas and remakes and rip-offs of older shows and foreign series we get here.
So a remake of a remake, then?
And for all we know, it would have been awesome.
Given that "The Bridge" deals with a very real and current problem, I really don't think the description of gun commercial fits it.
