That comment was a real journey.

There’s already the open-source XMPP (Jabber) protocol. https://xmpp.org I’m not sure if AIM has any features that aren’t already covered there (beyond familiarity).

Here’s a few other things that need to be addressed. Yes, I’m a professional audio engineer.

Cooking the books is now an app. Actually, I’d rather just get the app that can do this and then print out my own sheets.

I hope you use a different van for that.

Oh 8bit theater... how I miss thee and ur warriors of light hijinks. The one web comic that use to get me in trouble in college for laughing out loud during class.

Don’t forget Chess.

It checks out.

I’m going to place my bets on all those times you willingly handed your card to a waiter, who walked off out-of-sight for 5 minutes, over the chances that someone dumpster dived, on two consecutive weeks, to find pieces of your old card and put them together.

I agree with you on all your points. That said Pope Francis has done a lot of good and has worked hard to bring the Church into the modern age.

Yeah, fuck that guy for trying to reform the Catholic Church and deal with it’s history of bad shit! We like our faceless villains without any messy complications, like trying to do the right thing. That makes it easier for us to not have to think critically.

So it seems they seized the poetry books without rhyme or reason....

I’ve been using Ting for 2+ years. I just checked my last three bills and two were $17.57 and one was $17.55 (not sure what I did to save 2 cents that month...) Now, I rarely use any data so your mileage may vary.

I think a lot of the time people see the two as mutually exclusive when they actually go hand in hand. Like you said, you had a dose of luck, but at some point, hard work plays a role in taking advantage of that luck and getting the most out of it.

Interesting idea—“luck” is just an objective set of circumstances that we attribute meaning to. It kind of reminds me of the farmer’s son parable.

In my experience people tend to think of their own success as the result of merit and hard work, and their failures as the result of bad luck over which they had no control.

So, what you’re saying is that flipping them the double birds and going ‘F this, I’m going back to work at Sbarro’s in the food court’ isn’t an ideal strategy?

Happily, I have the nicest family in the world, and nobody abuses our time or anything, but I am in IT and my boyfriend is a lawyer, so we help out sometimes when we can.
