It’s funny that the prequels to the two most popular fantasy franchises came out at roughly the same time and both enraged racists by casting black people.

I hope they bring back Paget as both Frankie *and* the IT lady and they meet, tearing a hole in reality a la In the Mouth of Madness.
It’s hard to have a new character show up in the final season with a completely different comic vibe and just fit PERFECTLY.
Paget and Keith David deserve a ton more credit for those seasons than they get.
No “Bi doesn’t even begin to cover it?”
“Rhaenyra and Laenor’s coded conversation about their sexual preferences (“roast duck” versus “roast goose”) feels like a Westerosi homage to the Schitt’s Creek scene in which David Rose uses wine varietals as a metaphor for pansexuality.”
I find it most believable to assume that Adar is an extremely old Elf who was one of those captured by Morgoth to breed the race of orcs into being; hence, he’s their Father, as the name implies, and that’s what gives him such respect among them. They owe their existence to him, and maybe he has promised to improve…
But in either series will she finally get to fuck Ray Bradbury?
Can you at least keep your whinging in a single thread, please?
Do they leave him submerged in a helicopter begging the Blue Fairy into eternity to make him into a real boy?
She shouldn’t have blown all her Numberwang winnings.
Yeah, I came here to say.

Well, at least New AV Club is continuing the Old AV Club tradition of hyping some random movie to the hilt only to ultimately give it a C-.
Honestly can’t take someone seriously who both wants showrunner to “stay true” to the source material but also admits to loving the Jackson films which very much do not do that. They are honestly better films for it.
My favorite is the people bleating about how the show made Galadriel a “Mary Sue.” As if Tolkien didn’t break his pencil listing how she was the bestest of the best at every single thing (Athletics! Lore! Tall! Best hair!). They need to take it up with him.
Can this movie just come out already so it can flop and then i never have to hear about it again
Honestly, I even own a bunch of the extra books of Tolkien’s notes (love Peoples of Middle Earth) and I really enjoyed this. It is a bit like putting a bunch of his “histories” in a blender but I don’t think that was a bad thing.
Well, ackshually...
The general rule of thumb is that SNL has been “going downhill” since whenever the speaker was in high school. Fortunately, my high school years corresponded with Tina Fey’s tenure as head writer, so I think my case is stronger than most, but there are inevitably defenders (and detractors) of any era.
