I kind of know how you feel. Holland hasn’t really gotten a proper “spider-man” movie. Tony was a huge part of the first one. Tony loomed so large over the sequel, and the thing wasn’t in NY, and had the shades/Happy/Beck as angry ex-Stark person.

Obviously Matt’s going incognito...
I love how they’ve used the comics trope of random superheroes showing up at Strange’s doorstep for magic help many more times than he’s had his own solo movie
The do your own research part is what pisses me off. Becuase the vast majority of us (myself included) should NOT be doing our own research into this sort of stuff. That’s exactly what leads people down internet rabbit holes, some of which contain all sorts of deadly misinformation. We should be trusting the people…
she ended up putting out a statement last year claiming that she is not, and has never been, an anti-vaxxer
The creator of Bebop said many times even before a live-action adaptation was planned that Spike was Asian. It was pointed out in the manga that he was “oriental.” The creator specifically modeled him off of a well known Japanese actor (a specific part that actor played in fact) and everyone involved in the creation…
Wouldn’t be an AV Club article without several easily correctable errors by an author that doesn't give 1/1000th of a fuck.
I don’t get the tone of this article. What’s with the “forcibly vaccinated” remark? No one involved was suggesting that, as far as I know. Mandatory is not forced.
“Well nobody’s perfect.” - Some Like It Hot. This screwball comedy ends on an unpredictable high note.
I had read the book shortly before the movie came out - the faithfulness to the story was stunning and I thought the technique was a really good use. A “live action” filming would not have worked nearly as well to portray the distorted frame of mind in the lead character.
More people need to watch some of the hundreds of great of movies that were made before they were born. It’s a magical thing that will hip them to the existence of scores of iconic performers who - I know this sounds crazy - don’t wear super hero outfits. (Please be aware- Charlie Chaplin is not Adolf Hitler! Two compl…
Without Infinity Gems or his obsessive drive, Thanos is just a regular strong guy.
Red State, I think is genuinely pretty good if you’re a horror fan. I think he was also a bit ahead of his time with it. Take his name off it, slap an A24 logo on it, release it today and it would fit right in. At the time ppl were expecting it to be a torture-porn movie as was befitting of the current trend, when it…
I have some hopes for this. Clerks 2 is a weaker movie than Clerks 1 but it still has some quality zingers and it managed to be weirdly poignant about the ennui of passing a certain age.
Well, the fact that T’Challa just by some conversation can completely change Thanos into someone who not only hangs out with him and stops murdering people plus now has a non-abusive relationship with Nebula just makes Peter Quill look even more useless in the original timeline in comparison (yes all that had to…
The AV Club seems convinced that the top priority for the head of a major movie studio, during a pandemic that has utterly scrambled its release schedule and decimated its gameplan for making money, is nonsense Twitter controversies.
Bob Dylan was touring in the UK at that time.
I didn’t think “Supes” was a villain per se of the Harley Quinn series, just a sort of all-American blockhead. Sort of like the Venture Bros take on the guy.
See, now if Robin were named host of Jeopardy I’d be down for it.
