Not necessarily. There were Creole plantation owners who owned slaves at the time in Louisiana.

She’s not a horror writer. She is a supernatural romance writer.
There was an entire class of free wealthy Creole gentry in Louisiana in the 18th century (Gens de Couleur Libre) who owned plantations and slaves just like Louis. Having Louis be biracial may not be completely faithful to the source material (although I can’t recall if Rice ever explicitly stated he was white) but…
Tony must have been a KISS fan growing up
Um...no.
A little detail that’s often left out of that story. Watts hit Jagger so hard he nearly defenestrated (I love that word) him from a 4 story hotel window. Keith saved him from going over and said something to the effect of “he’s wearing my jacket”.
He seemed so cool and “above it all”

This entire “misunderstood” defense is nonsense when you have people who are familiar (and are fans) of the musical tearing into it.
We watched Jeremiah Johnson in class in high school in the 80s. I don’t remember the specific educational context apart from our teacher being a lazy bastard in a shitty underfunded school system (yay Louisiana) but I do remember liking the movie.
I hope they’re not going to go with 50+ year old adults working shit minimum wage convenience store jobs because that film sounds like it would end with a suicide pact.
Dominic West looks like John Cena after a bender in that picture.
Wrong. It has always been credited as a marimba. When Zappa played it live, it was played on a marimba. When Ruth Underwood played it after 30 years for the Zappa documentary, she played it on a marimba.
