I thought it was interesting that while Captain America:  The First Avenger went to great lengths to avoid using the word “Nazi” (going so far as to frame the entirety of World War II in MCU as a fight between Hydra and the rest of the world), this episode does it right out the gate.

I thought it a bit crass to fictionalize the real life situation and the parties involved (maybe a link to Amnesty International’s website could have been provided for edification) but I certainly didn’t see it as an “attack” on Nigeria.   Hopefully those who watch the show who are unaware of what’s going on might

(Spoiler)

They are definitely not shy about showing “meat”. It’s a very gory movie.

I worked with Burton on a set for a month (a TV movie thing back in the 80s).  He actually is as nice as he seems to be.  Just a really warm, engaging guy.  It’s easy to root for people like that.

He shouldn’t have come to work in this shirt

If I’m not mistaken this series focuses solely on the 2nd age so no Children of Hurin

I’m kind of looking forward to this. There are sorts of things in the Silmarillion that could be expanded upon - the fall of Numenor, the mortal lives of the Nine etc - in the right hands.

That’s about as much material as Crosby Stills and Nash had when they played at Woodstock.

I liked this episode but it almost seemed like a Rick and Morty take on the chicken finger episode of Community.

They should have replaced him with Lil Nas X.

10 Cloverfield Lane would have been much better received if it had been left to stand on its own.  It doesn’t fall off the rails until the end when it clumsily ties itself to Cloverfield.

I know they have to write him back into the show somehow but if a player for a club like Man City (or any club really)quit the game and the team only to show up later with another club, there would be lawsuits and FA grievances galore.

It’s probably because I’m a bit older than the average AV Club reader but I’m more interested in digesting Prince’s new album Welcome 2 America this weekend.  The idea of Prince working with Tal Wilkenfeld makes me all warm and fuzzy.

As soon as some high profile film or TV shoot gets shutdown because Zeke the key grip read up on the vaccine for 15 minutes on Facebook and decided he didn’t want Bill Gates tracking him and now half the cast and crew are on ventilators, vaccines will be mandatory industry wide.

I know it’s really easy humor but I hope we get more scenes of Roy coaching the girls’ team.

Rebecca Black was a 14 year old girl.

So that’s what, 30 bucks in royalty payments?
