I much prefer the loading screens. They take 5 seconds and with them, the world has felt more vibrant and alive. I'd go somewhere in The sims 3 and there would be 2 sims doing nothing on the lot. In the sims 4, I go to a bar and it actually feels like a bar! People are doing stuff and it's much more exciting.
