Oh, big fella, I can’t wait until this plague is over so you can see how much 1/8" steel my baby girl requires. This site would catch fire if any of these adorable, delightful people saw the underside of my daily driver (and only car).

Rear brakes really aren’t that essential. Most vehicles I’ve driven with rear brakes pinched off stop just as good as you’d expect with both rears. Just don’t go racing around town in your $500 beater and call it a day.

Exactly. Limit the use of the vehicle to essential travel only, and take it easy.

Haha, Yes. So when I moved back I would hear people complain about the PA roads, I told them they dont get to complain, and they need to drive to Michigan and drive around the Detroit area. I would blow at least one tire every winter in Michigan because of potholes. I never had that happen in PA.

Yeah, it’s all kinds of not good. The truck’s rocker panels have rotted away since you saw it. I’m going to have those redone by my favorite cheap body shop. I'll replace the trailer hitch before I tow again.

Eh, it’s just the rear brakes. I’ve driven XJs on only fronts; it’s not the end of the world for a few trips to the store and back.

Been there, done that, with Harbor Freight welder.

My experience with Hyundai dealerships about a year and a half ago was not good. Helping my friend buy a car. Had the car picked out, price agreed on. Then the dealer backed out. Found another one 2 hours drive away. Called Hyundai, they told the dealership to sell it to us at the agreed price. We show up there 1 hour

I know its partly because we’ll only hear about the problems, but it feels like dealers are always pushing back on manufacturers on manufacturer changes and policies.

“It’s a storm of their own making”, goes on to list several factors very definitely not of Hyundai’s own making. They absolutely did botch the roll out of Genesis, and they’ve let the whole crap dealerships problem go on for far too long. I still think the entire dealership model in the U.S. has very, very little to

KIA SOUL!!!! That's the vehicle I was thinking about. I was like "crossover-like vehicle older people love because it's so spacious and easy to get in and out of." Then I drew a blank and went with the first thing that came to mind. lol

Uh...

(Second Third Fourth attempt at posting this - can we set Kinja on fire, already?)

1. Sedans are *out*. It’s hard for older people to lower /raise themselves up and down from the seat.

Or the Lincoln version, the MKT.

Ecoboost Flex. Should be a little more fun than a standard van and easy ingress/egress. Have your mom try the seats first.

I think part of the issue is many people have no idea how much of a fantasy MSRP is. They compare the used price to MSRP and think it’s a great deal, not realizing that with a little negotiation the prices end up a only a few grand apart. My dumbass brother did this with his and his wife’s trucks, plus he was

I’ve been surprised by this over the years with Toyota Tacoma and 4Runners. Even if 4 or 5-year-old used one with 50 to 60,000 mi on it will go for 5 to $7,000 less than a new one. It's hard for me to justify not just buying the new one. Which is what I've done for the last two. The resale value on my current 2015

lol, yeah, i was really struck by 3 years left on a 5 year old car that couldnt have cost more than 30k to begin with. Im glad htis dude can afford it but jebus. Stop the train.

Holy fuck Mr. Gladiator-Guy. Who the hell thought $650 a month for a lease was a good deal? And how the hell are you still paying $452 a month with three years left on a five year old Miata.
