Loved that book, although I don't think it changed but rather forged a clearer picture of both Johns. Found $100 stashed away in it one day, too...

Worth it, for sure. And here comes a new onslaught of RPGs for the 3DS, so you're all set!

My takeaway is: its cheaper to download this versus buying the "package" version at the store; both prices include taxes as well (the 税込 after the price) .

Worse still is that the Japanese is just gibberish of random characters. If you're going to add it, at least do the homework and get it right.

I think this completely trumps a fan remake - it's a full blown reimagining:

I wonder if Miyamoto has ever seen / played Konjak's fan tribute game Legend of Princess? It's not a full game but a total proof of concept that Link as a side-scroller with modern action adventure tropes would TOTALLY work.

Check out Battle of Olympus aka The Adventures of Link in Ancient Greece, if you haven't already. Great challenge and tunes to boot! Recommend following an FAQ for it, though.

Was curious about the math - $3850 seems pretty low. And, it is!

Good point, it was a bit cutesy in the design compared to the original FFT. IIRC, the game opened with a snowball fight, vs. the storming of a monastery. Night Sword to that!

"kids friendly game"? The whole red card system sucked so bad I lost interest in the game!! If I could have thrown my controller across the room in a temper tantrum, I would have.

You're totally right! I still want my Legendary Axe and Keith Courage!!

Yes! Although, I remember the duality of the names being somewhat confusing back in the day. Need to confirm how they were listed in the Nintendo Power Strategy Guide (vol 13) ... as I feel they may have used the Japan-based English names.

Well, of course the colors wouldn't work on the original Gameboy... seeing as it didn't have any color to begin with. But if we're talking about playing this on a Gameboy Color... this should work.

20 times is a lot of time to spend, sheesh! I guess they could always do something simpler like add a parallax scrolling BG.

Haven't played it yet — will have a look!

Yep - I enjoyed the Kid Icarus 3D classics release, and thought this could be the start of a few more classics getting reworked. Interested to seeing the Sega games — bring 'em!

Just to confirm, none of these 3DS Virtual Console games are with added 3D (unless otherwise noted), right?

Yep - always been impressed with the delivery on Princess Mononoke. Recently saw Blu Ray of Laputa in Japanese, and on a whim switched the scene with the old man in the cave to English. It was putrid and very poorly done. Other languages though, like Spanish and German - which were probably recorded more recently than

No, TJ Townsend aka Elemental79 on Deviant Art. Here's the Timelapse of him making this in Photoshop. Totally awesome!
