Sounds like a damn good deal on the box, and definitely a worthy point re: software prices. (I too pick up bargain stuff on Steam all the time). I was basing my higher estimate from Stephen's quote: "We've also heard that Durango is roughly as graphically capable as the second-most powerful PC on the market today",

Seeing as the original 360 launched for $399 (est. 2013 adjusted inflation amount: $472.58), and the PS3 launched at $599 ($709.47!), I would expect that $399 would be the absolute minimum for either next gen system. (and that would be for the basic "turd" package).

"bulbous schnoz" - sounds like a good name for a jewish rock band!

Depends on his Japanese connections, I guess. SFC games are still pretty easy to come by in Japan; you could fill an extra suitcase and get the lion's share of them in one trip to Tokyo. It's just all the really rare ones I suppose that would make a challenge. But it sounds like he's just the kind of guy who enjoys

Wow, that was an excellent, if not bittersweet, video story. Thanks for sharing Patricia! Just a small courtesy though, you should probably mention the artist's name (Filipe B Costa) and provide a link back to his page? #justsayin

ya! GBA SP was the shizzz!! keeping mine for that reason.

Was also there for the show, sat right by the Skull Kid, so I'm surprised I didn't see y'all at intermission (admittedly, after a bit I dove into my 3DS to clear out a full bank of street passes).

Personally I dig the multi-colored buttons better, but the US's longer cable and concave X & Y buttons win. My main SNES controller is a US-based for cable length with colored buttons.

Just got back from my first flight on All Nippon Airways from JFK to Tokyo and back, and I must say, the quality of the food on that flight for even their coach seats far surpassed anything I've ever had on domestic carriers (Northworst-Delta, American). Soba noodles? Fresh fruit cups? Fresh baked bread? Really good.

Popeye's is great stuff. But if you've never had it, like most other chain fast food gone abroad, KFC of Japan is kind of its own thing.

Very awesome mural! Definitely worth every bead and hour, and it looks like it came out nicely. I'm impressed. Very unique & individual art piece.

Yoshi is land! Like, he's a giant continent spewin' out little green-speckled eggs. It could happen!

Ah, right on! I noticed that our flight back from Japan this time (737-700 flown by ANA) had USB ports in every seat back for charging, which covered that base nicely, but probably wouldn't be enough juice. The A380 flight sounds like you might be able to swing it, so as long as you claim the outlet.

You might an outlet in business or first class, but in typical economy class, notsomuch.

Most flights don't have electrical outlets, do they? (They're standard on bullet trains in Japan). Electricity here is key... guess you could bring some kind of massive portable battery?

So, what are you waging on if you lose this gamble? Just curious.

Why, oh why, must the 3DS be region locked? I WOULD LOVE TO PLAY IT ON MY LAME NORTH AMERICAN 3DS.

2 years ahead of its time? dropped in august 2004

Now playing

Totally agree. The sound the boss of Doom 2 makes when launching random enemy pods has been used in so many things over the years.
