Dude, it’s swimming, it’s just a bunch of white country club types competing, it’s basically like the X-Games. If you were playing a pickup basketball game and could only choose between Phelps and Bolt, who would you pick?

You can’t put Phelps ahead of him. One dominated a world sport (Bolt) the other dominated a sport for middle and upper-class white kids.

That’s the thing, 100 meters is tougher to win. Phelps is amazing too but you see swimmers clean up on medals quite often. Part of it for Phelps is longevity. Bolt won the “Super Bowl” three straight times.

Well, that’s a different discussion.

Olympics were different back then.

Think about the numbers. How many people competitively swim vs. competitively run.

Yeah, people base it on sheer number of medals but swimming has way too many medals.
