If your son wants to be like Watts he’ll also need some chemical assistance to go with that work ethic.

I guess since you had class with him that makes him a good guy. I’m sure good guys totally go from walk-on to NFL all-pro on “natural” ability.
Something tells me it’s that sort of obsessive–if not doltish–level of dedication that took him from being a walk-on to the best defensive player in football.
Nothing really, unless you’re in the College Football Playoffs, it’s just a glorified consolation game.
I can understand his motive here
Let’s also not forget that not only is Steve Kerr a great coach but with his 5 titles he’s = to Kobe Bryant as a player.
Let’s also not forget the year he scored 80+ against Toronto, the Lakers missed the playoffs. That was IN HIS PRIME, never happened to Lebron.
I agree totally about that point with Jeter. If he had played for the Royals or Astros, he’d get a small segment on Sportscenter or one of those leadoff photos in Sports Illustrated. The All-Star was complete overkill. I liked Jeter as a player but listening to these tributes, I would have sworn he was on par with…
Seeing how media is playing up his legacy, it is proper to put it in perspective. Kobe won an MVP, great, Steve Nash won 2. Kobe won 5 titles (IMO it’s really 2 since he was a sidekick for the first 3).
I’d give you 1,000 stars if I could
I remember the NBA Courtside game mainly for the fact that Kobe was a starter in the game but not real life (Eddie Jones started over him) and he started at PG (I guess didn’t want to embarrass Jones). Even more ironic was he made the All-Star team as a starter that year despite not starting for his own team (then…
Terry Funk was upset nobody had a chainsaw and Cactus Jack was looking for some thumbtacks.
Funniest part is Georgia Tech has won a national title more recently than Georgia. The Bulldogs fancy themselves as Alabama (explains why they hired an Alabama assistant) but in truth, they’re closer to South Carolina in terms of present-day prestige.
He’s an excellent example because he was a worthless player for Alabama. Now, if he had been the type of player who generates revenue, then it would be a poor example.
It’s the latter
Well, God’s views miraculously tend to be congruent with whoever is preaching about him.
Astonishingly, his concern was not about the legal consequences but rather about the wrath of God.
They prefer to call it “building character” or an “ass whooping”
