he shouldn’t lose his scholarship.

That’s right up there with these classic lines:

I gotta hand it to this Jesus fella, he has a lot patience with the actions of his followers.

Like how he claims it’s not an excuse and then proceeds to use it as an excuse?

I am not interested in the excuses of men who hit women.

Kanye was a complete ass but having said that, the outrage was over the top. At the end of the day, it was simply a rude interruption.

He’s just mimicking the CEO/politician model of claiming you take responsibility for the problem and then laying out a bunch of excuses and subtly blaming someone else.

Great post, I always remember when Ryan Mallet was at Michigan under Lloyd Carr (ran a pro-style offense). He was a class drop-back passer but then Carr retires and they hire Rich Rod (spread-offense guru). Mallet still had to sit out a year while he transferred to Arkansas despite Rich Rod making him obsolete through

Even if the scholarship is guaranteed, the fact they have to sit out a year means there should be no restrictions. If they want to put a restriction on, then they shouldn’t have to sit-out.

USC BLEW IT big time in hiring Helton. If it wasn’t for hiring Andy Enfield (which in many respects was a no-brainer), he would have been a TOTAL failure as AD. Sarkisian hiring at least had some logic (former Carroll assistant and the guy who he recommended to take over) but then after he imploded, he hired a

I’m sure he’s happy at Houston. I’ve also heard he might be happier at Texas.

Your point is asinine in the context of this discussion. It’s about players who want to transfer. Players who choose schools based on the school, likely won’t want to transfer. Having said that, even if they did want to transfer, why does their reason matter?

I agree, coaches like Kirby Smart are simply symptoms. The NCAA and their structure are the disease.

I do have biases (and for the record, I love Cruyff, I’m very aware of his influence as a player and as a manager) but it’s this notion that players outside of Europe mostly get by with their talent. Like I said in my earlier post, I don’t think you’re being intentional about it. In truth, I don’t really blame you for

Subconsciously I think you’re getting into this notion that South Americans are just naturally talented and European players are smarter (which IMO implies they’re not as smart).

That’s a Euro-centric view. Pele embodied Brazilian football and Maradona carried an average Argentina side to a World Cup victory (1986) and a final (1990).

I would put Ronaldo up there with Cruyff and ahead of Zidane and Platini. If it weren’t for Messi, he would clearly be the player of the last decade.

Speaking of Fisher being a media-whore, he actually signed Chris Mortenson’s son to a training camp tryout. He totally earned it seeing how he couldn’t win the starting QB job at Arkansas. He then transferred to Samford, where he couldn’t win the starting job there, then transferred back to Arkansas to be a backup QB.

Looks like an upgrade from Perlman.
