CBS never owned The Big Bang Theory, it was always a Warner Bros. show, which just goes to show how confusing and complicated these things can be.

CBS All-Access isn’t a streaming service, it’s a negotiating tool to bump up their carriage fees.

I mean, in that sense, the risk of SIDS in general is overblown. Even before the Back-to-Sleep campaign, the death rate was only about 3 in every 2,000 kids.  But if we can cut that number to 1 in every 2,000 with some very basic safety practices, why not?

I agree.  So as long as you and your spouse (pre-marriage shouldn’t have any account sharing in my opinion) agree on spending habits, there shouldn’t be any reason have separate accounts, and if you don’t, that’s an issue that really should be worked out before marriage.  Otherwise, you’re just kicking the can down

If you’re going to go to these lengths to hack your windshield wipers, why wouldn’t you hook it up to a moisture sensor placed on the windshield so it could sense the intensity of the rain and adjust the wipers appropriately?

This is just another reminder that, for all we love to think of television showrunners have some master plan for their shows, 90% of the time they’re just taking the best ideas from their people and running with them, hoping to figure out where it will all lead later.

I have never heard of this show, but this Writer/Director list is like a who’s who of the last thirty years of SciFi television. Plus the always amazing Stephen Cannell.

It doesn’t have to do with the distance, so much as the result. If it’s missed, a fair catch kick functions like a punt, so it can be returned and the defense (who just punted away) gets the ball back.

Right, maybe “a la carte” was the wrong phrasing, but they’re not bullshit fees. It’s money you’re paying for content.

I wouldn’t call broadcast fees and RSN fees “bullshit.” That’s just pricing content a la carte.

I think it was a camera issue, not a wardrobe issue. If you watch the beats before this, the cameras are cutting all over the place and nobody is actually on camera when they are speaking. Then, they cut to the wide shot, which is when she comes in.

But one of the key points of being a contractor is being able to set your own price. It’s not just “I can drive when I want,” it’s “I can set my own price to drive when I want.” If Uber were really just a tech platform, they would look more like something like Etsy, where drivers can post their prices for particular

I think the point is more that, while Uber would like to be classified as a tech platform company, without any drivers, its platform is worthless.  Thus, the drivers are “core to the company’s business model.”

That’s...fine? I don’t see why that would need to change under the new law. I’ve got employees who work for me who are classified as temporary staff and work 14 hours per week (sometimes less), non-union, etc.

Subscription hopping is especially easy if you keep Amazon or Hulu as a regular subscription.

Honest question: How long did you watch the show? Because I felt like the show softened and opened the characters considerably by about season 3. Certainly, the show still played in stereotypes (it is a sitcom after all), but they were definitely given a lot more depth, particularly when they expanded the female cast.

CBS aired The Big Bang Theory, but Warner Bros. produced and owned it. So it’s their call on to whom to sell the rights. This used to be a lot more common a decade or so ago, but is less so now. You still see it from time to time, though. For example, Brooklyn Nine-Nine was produced by NBC but aired on Fox (until Fox

I mean, it’s not like we have a precedent where manufacturers of addictive, harmful substances agree to a multi-billion dollar settlement in order to consolidate thousands of lawsuits and avoid decades of litigation over their deceptive marketing and sales practices.

Oh, God, Amazon is terrible. Why on earth they decide to split up every season of a television show is beyond me. Just give me one page with all of the episodes together so I don’t have to sift through fifty results just to find the right thing.

Yeah, I should have clarified, you can only give away samples in places where under-18 people aren’t allowed.  So, basically, clubs and bars.
