We must dispense with this fiction that Eddie Redmayne doesn't know what he's doing in Jupiter Ascending; he knows exactly what he's doing.

Really? What kept me from seeing it was one of the verbal exchanges between Jay Hernandez and Kirsten Dunst in the trailer where the characters actually say to each other: "You're Crazy!", "Well You're Beautiful!" But YMMV or different strokes i guess?
I still say his time on that show was worth it, if only for his spaulding gray and robert evans impressions.
Eleanor is Carla if they hadnt replaced Diane with Rebecca and instead beefed up Carla's role in the show
He was also in "Death Bed: The Bed That Eats", a little known, piece of crap, horror movie from the seventies. Patton Oswalt mined the concept of the movie for comedic gold on one of his albums.
Oh for sure, but that's what makes that scene so effective. He's believable and you remember that even as sweet and lovable a guy as Mr. Matthews can hold horrible beliefs.
No love for Peggy/Don?
I thought it was "Jason Bourne for people on the autism spectrum", but I like your explanation much better.
You didn't like "Jan Quadrant Vincent 16" or the fact that one of the aliens was voiced by Werner Herzog?
I was referring more to "Buried" and "The Nines". Also, while a cussing superhero may not be "offbeat", I'd argue a superhero willing to let his girlfriend come in the backdoor with a strap-on is quite a ways off the beaten path.
I think for years it was the unearned smarm. But he's had enough failures and taken enough rewarding and offbeat choices, that I think he has earned the smarm and i like him much more now.
I'm putting the over/under at 7 on that one
oh, indeed
Same!
Same!
Yeah iirc, someone once described his political views as "Milton Friedman on domestic policy and Noam Chomsky on foreign policy" and Eastwood agreed. It's not easy to pigeonhole a guy who was against the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and is for licensing and registering guns.
I've been saying the exact same thing to all my friends and family. They all agree it's cold comfort, but also that it's all we have right now.
Laces Out!
The rare holiday movie that bombed at the box office, didn't develop a cult following, or become endlessly looped on cable.
But why? Flander's ass is saying nothing at all!
Nothing at all!
Nothing at all!
