Also my first and only true love will always be Dr. Ellie Sattler.

But really, that has the stench of Lucas all over it.

AN INTERACTIVE CD-ROM!!!!

I read your book.

The thing is, my favorite memories of watching Jurassic Park were on a VHS totally fucked up from overuse on my family's old 36'' TV. The CGI looks pretty awesome under those conditions.

Jurassic Park really should be the gold standard in filmmaking for how special effects are utilized. Animatronics, CGI, and (as Dowd said) implication are balanced flawlessly, and I'm still astounded by how well those pieces fit together.

Dinosaurs are so fucking awesome. Jesus Christ.

It's a veggiesaurus, Lex!

Does your father hate you?

I don't know about you, but my Big Mouth Billy Bass has aged beautifully.

O true apothecary! Thy nitrous oxide is quick.

or ¡Rob!

Totally agree.

I eagerly anticipate the day when the Duck Dynasty comes to a bloody end. House Robertson will be toppled in a violent coup, their brood put to the sword, their ancestral Louisiana keep razed to ash, and their fields salted so that naught grows for ten generations.

To be fair, being antisemitic in 1880s France was like being morbidly obese in 2010s America.

I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with that.

I would say that the original Upstairs Downstairs handled history pretty subtly. Likewise, Deadwood and even Boardwalk Empire, Masters of Sex, and Rome. The latter aren't necessarily "subtle," but I think they all share a common approach the past—insofar as they really are shows about history, rather than dramas set

You're right that it's not "about" the 60s, but Mad Men is so lush and stylized (at times, to a fault) that the period-setting becomes an essential player. A show that managed to do this more successfully is Freaks and Geeks, at least in my opinion. Yes, it takes place in the early 80s, but I never felt like I was

"I wish my emotionally abusive parents didn't make me play this terrible game."

I just had an image of Dany lying on her bed sighing and drawing little hearts around "DT + DN 4eva" in a Trapper Keeper.
