My Sunday afternoon hangover movie is Total Recall for some reason.

This movie has already been made. It was called Tears of the Sun and it was terrible.

It really is astounding how effective the original broadcast is. The transmissions from Grover's Mill are great, and the way the "correspondent's" curious excitement turns to horror as the Martians emerge from the cylinders is masterfully done. That these transmissions are cut off and interspersed with restrained jazz

On Friday I watched Beverly Hills Cop for the first time in years, which led into Midnight Run. Anyway, I was really struck by how much more I enjoyed the latter. I think it's just a much more consistent movie, and I found Eddie Murphy's constant, vile caricatures of gay people pretty uncomfortable to watch. Dude had

The whole album is tremendous, incidentally

Stevie's outfits were the real winners tonight

This is really the first show I've ever seen that's had me actively rooting against the protagonist (is that even the right word for Stuart Pritchard?), and in that sense, I found the ending very satisfying.

Yeah from what I've read, I'm kind of glad I got out when I did.

Are people still enjoying Homeland? I got totally fed up after the chopper ex machina last season.

You guys should really give Dads a chance.

Not to belabor the point or anything but one of the main reasons that I watch and love "Boardwalk" is that I'm utterly taken in by the historical minutiae. Seriously, I can't think of any other recent drama that perfectly maintains that level of detail without fetishizing the past and smugly winking at the audience

"Ice to see you."

They just have a much more European sensibility.

I would actually say that black people used to be like UPN.

"I HATE WHITE PEOPLE!!!"

Very true, they all look like they were done by a freshman in an intro to graphic design class.

The scene in Carpenter's The Thing when the creature assimilates the bald guy and it tries to escape into the snow. The other characters chase it out into the darkness and the creature slowly turns around and lets out this awful, inhuman scream. You can see this horrible realization dawn on the faces of the other men,

My girlfriend is one of said Millenials obsessed with this movie and I have no desire to watch it.
